If it were anybody else, I'd say maybe, but La Canfora gets stuff wrong all the time. He's the most unreliable "NFL insider" out there. I think he reports half his stuff based on his opinion without any real facts to back them up. I believe we're gonna lose out and Khan will still keep Meyer. I'd be shocked if he were fired, but I hope he is and I hope it is soon.

#3

I would really like to hope so, and this time, if Kahn fires the head guy... WALK EVERYONE OUT. Not a single carry over like we've had after every damn coach or gm we [BLEEP] canned. No one, when the GM comes in, let him amass a whole new scouting team post draft. New head coach with HIS guys, all of them, fresh faces.

Seat should be hot, but I don’t think he’ll be fired. Seat should be liquid magma come middle of next season if things aren’t markedly better though.

#5

Would be nice but wasn’t he the one that broke Nagy was supposedly out the door midseason?

This is the most realistic take. There might be some staffing changes this offseason, but Meyer is safe until the middle of next season.

Were I in Khan’s shoes, first I would spend a big chunk of his money on a dream shopping spree. Then I would fire Baalke and Bevell. Hire a competent GM and tell him to find an OC who is not only good, but to ably fill the HC position just in case. This route minimizes Khan’s discomfort, somewhat, at making the wrong call on Meyer if things continue to spiral.

Oh, and buy out Keenan McCardell’s contract from the Vikings.

Losing with a rookie QB and head coach is to be expected. All other complete ineptness shown by Urban " don't ask me I don't know " Meyer is completely unacceptable and can not be attributed to first year head coach status. His decision making and leadership skills are simply incompetent. There is no other way to put it.

Khan kept Marrone around longer than he should have. Did the same thing with Gus. Meyer's seat is ice cold.

I’d offer Belichick a minority ownership stake and let him run everything with a commitment to being head coach for the next 5 years and be done with it.  After 5 he can step back to just being GM.  I’d like a longer commitment on the coaching side but dude is already 69.

And then the Patriots turn around and offer him the same.

You guys ain’t gonna like this, but Meyer is getting atleast another season.

I am in disbelief. I have held my tongue since the day Urban was hired because I always felt he was a "lucky" head coach, not a good coach. Lucky to get the jobs he had at Florida and OS at the right time. Both those schools are easy to recruit to. They also are very attractive and easy to get good assistants at. Before that he did well playing with other people's players (2 years each Utah, Bowling Green) and moved on. I felt he was overly depended on the creativity, vision and talent assessment of his assistants to make him look good. A corporate teflon type guy. This is the pro league, being a slick salesman is less of an asset than in college.

Now every time he is asked a question he either doesn't know the answer or defers to an assistant. What does he actually do during the day? What other HC can you name would act this way? It is almost like he has checked out on this season, almost like he is embarassed....what they decide to tank after losing all their offensive speed or something?

NOW!
Is the time to find a real NFL coach and quit messing around with a "lucky"
college coach.

This is the time for a new regime. I really doubt khan will do it though.

Facts.  Good or bad.   The good news is we should see a huge turnaround with the front office and coaches.   I can't see how they justify this product without a ton of accountability.

Why do you think we'll see some huge turn around?

What possible evidence could you have to hope for a turnaround?

So Urbz hired a bunch of his friends and acquaintances the first go-round.

We expect it to improve when he pulls from tier 2 of his coaching depth charts?

I agree he's going to get another year, but I wholeheartedly believe it will just be another year exactly like this one.

Good news, if TLaw's development remains stunted, it should mean we can sign him for cheap when his rookie deal expires. None of that $500M deals like Mahomes.

my guess is the intended wording was "turnover", but you never know.
