Have we been too harsh on Jawaan Taylor?

The game against the Eagles is much closer to his norm than the previous 3.

Right.

NFL players can't improve after the age of 23.

LOL exactly, you beat me to it! Zingo!

Jawaan Taylor isn’t going anywhere. Those guys on the other side of the ball are pretty good too. We probably win that game if it wasn’t for the 5 turnovers. Can’t have All-Pros at all 22 positions. And he’s the best RT we have. He’s actually playing very good football if you don’t think so then go back and watch with your own eyes. Every lineman gets beat every game. It’s part of football.

Dude hasn't missed a snap in 3 years, and there's no way he has never been banged up some. I think you have to at least love the game to never miss a snap in over 3 years. Hopefully his love for the game drives him to improve and at least be a solid starter for a few more years.

This is true! You are always going to have some deficiencies with a salary cap. Just don’t overpay for average

Taylor has been pretty good so far this year. Better than Little. Previous years…umm not so good. If he has a decent year should the Jags pay him? Imo the team isn’t talented enough not to bring in one or two more solid free agents. The cap is about to get tight and the roster still needs improvements.

So at what position do we have an All Pro?

It is easy to look back on the previous seasons and place more emphasis on the Eagles game, but as others have mentioned he has been pretty good so far this season. Tomorrow’s game will tell which way he is heading.

I think the decision on whether to retain Taylor has more to do with Walker Little.  The team is tight against the salary cap next year and have other players that they would like to re-sign and players with increasing salaries that they would prefer not to cut.  If they believe Walker Little is a legitimate starter, I think the Jaguars let Taylor go.  However, if they see Little as just a backup, they will likely sign Taylor out of necessity.

We already know which direction that he's trending. He's more than serviceable and so far this season, he's been playing Lights Out. Every O-linemen gets their share of "I wish that I could have that play back" bad plays, they simply has to be minimized. He's done so thus far and I expect him to continue doing so within the future.

Time Will Tell.
