Trade back into first round?

#61

Not a fan of moving up. Dave has done well in the mid rounds. Still need:

Pass rusher

LB

Guard/center

CB (please let Norman come here)

I say no to trading up and drafting as many players as possible to build the depth.

His arms are "long enough" but not elite. He is shorter than you would like. He is 250 lbs... Not really explosive in his combine or pro day numbers....

Like I said - I may be wrong, but I see him as a late 1st-2nd round pick.

"You can lead a horse to water..." :turned:

Didn't know you had to have "elite" arm length to be good.

Quite a few pass-rushers, both past and present, are around his height/weight, so I'd wager his size is fine.

His size combined with his other measurables is not fine. He's not particularly fast or quick or long. I'm not saying it's terrible, but definitely not a top 5 talent like some people suggested.

I know it's not really a realistic scenario (and I'm not saying we should do it either, I'm just curious) for us to trade up that much, but if comes pick number 12-13 and Shaw Lawson hasn't been drafted yet how much would we have to give up to trade up to that spot approximately?

I wouldn't trade up, we aren't that good to be giving up draft picks- too many holes. According to Vegas, we're a 6.5 win team, we need players.

We need "star" players

His game film shows plenty of explosiveness. Combine numbers aren't the end-all be-all you're trying to suggest they are.

Yeah, Combine is a decent tool but it's just one tool and it doesn't supersede game film.  I don't need someone to blow up the combine like Vic Beasley for them to be a top 5 pick.

no, I never implied it's the end-all-be-all.  His film is pretty good at Ohio State.. It's good at Eastern Kentucky with terrible competition.  But it didn't make me go "wow!" at any point.  His combine kind of gave more evidence to the notion that he's not a superior athlete.
