2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?
|
As I continuously tweak my wish list of 2015 Free Agents, I have to be mindful that many of the big names just will not be there.
My latest list: 1. Derrick Morgan - Leo DE - Titans - 6'3" 261 lbs Morgan's contract is voidable this year and the Titans are a mess. If he comes out into Free Agency, he may be the most available DE on the market. The past two seasons he had lined up as an OLB and in 2013, that took some getting used to. Still, Morgan is young at 26 years old in 2015. He should be good for 6+ sacks per season. He is solid against the run with 60+ tackles per year and finally he can drop back in coverage, so he could man the Otto Lber spot if needed. 2. Akeem Ayers - Otto LBer - Patriots - 6'3" 255 lbs Ayers was traded from the Titans to the Patriots this past year. He is the perfect Otto LBer in that he has coverage skills and pass rush skills. More importantly he should not be a costly sign. He will be 26 years old in 2015. 3. Charles Clay - TE - Dolphins - 6'3" 255 lbs Will become the Jags H-Back and pass catching TE. He will be 26 years old in 2015. 4. Eddie Royals - WR - Chargers - 5'10" 185 lbs Veteran Slot WR - 29 years old in 2015. Can also help returning punts. 5. Perrish Cox - CB - 49ers - 6'0" 190 lbs Another CB to replace Alan Ball. Just coming into his own in 2014, with 5 ints. He will be 28 years old in 2015. 6. Kendrick Lewis - FS - Texans - 6'0" 198 lbs Came over from KC in 2014. Solid FS who will compete for the starting job. He will be 27 years old in 2015 7. Derek Newton - ORT - Texans - 6'6" 313 lbs 2 year starter at ORT for Texans and their Power running game. He will be 28 years old in 2015. We show less advertisements to registered users. No to 4 and especially no to 6.
I have been thinking about adding C.J. Spiller to be my list of Free Agents. He is from Lake Butler so the Jags would be like coming home. He has had two injury filled years but when healthy is a 1000 yard runner who can catch screen passes. Mostly though I think he could platoon with DRob and provide the Jags a real running game along with Toby Gerhart. I don't think he will command a large contract, certainly no more than Gerhart.

I would love to see Akeem Ayers in a jags uniform. Been a fan since his UCLA days. Idk why he was in the titans doghouse this year, but as soon as NE traded for him, he was an instant starter and played pretty well. He can run, cover, and rush the passer. Should still have his best football ahead of him at only age 26.
Totally agree about Akeem Ayers. I think he is a sleeper FA signee. Big upside.
Like Marks, a Titan castoff. Quote:I would love to see Akeem Ayers in a jags uniform. Been a fan since his UCLA days. What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
:pirate: LB Houston, CB Revis, DE JPP.
DT Leo Williams in the draft, DT Marks back healthy, Poz back healthy, Smith on other side of Houston makes a mean LB core with JT Thomas for depth / packages, JPP and Chris Clemons in a rotation with Big Red & Tyson Alualu on other side, Roy Miller / Tyson for depth at DT... decent Line & LBs.. Revis on one side, Aaron Colvin on the other with Gratz & McCray as depth / nickle... and they need a great Safety in either the draft or FA... Woodson? Quote:Are you trying to say please? Just once or twice.

Might Davon House - CB - Green Bay be a Free Agent that the Jags might consider to bring in to take over for Gratz?
I want Devon McCourty, Bruce Carter/JPP, Eric Berry*(why not?), Most wanted but least likely to obtain; J.Houston, N.Suh, D.Bryant.
* Eric Berry has Hodgkins Lymphoma, now I am unaware of this disease and dont know how long it lasts or if he will return from it. Throw him a contract, his talent is worth it.
I want my uncle to win the LOTTO and then leave it to me, but that probably aint gonna happen.

We all would love to see Brian Bulaga of Green Bay become available so that the Jags might sign him in Free Agency, but what if Green Bay re-signs him before he enters Free Agency?
I submit that the No. 2 OT prospect is not an OT at all but rather is Orlando Franklin - 6'7" 325 lbs - OLG. The Broncos made him an OG, but when he was at Miami, he was an OT and I think he could man the ORT position for the Jags just fine. Given the Broncos must sign a bunch of their Free Agents, it seem reasonable to think that Orlando Franklin could be available and that is who I believe the Jags must target for their Oline Upgrade at the ORT position. Your thoughts?

I'm aware of him and think he can help. What is his age however. I'm all about building for the future so 26 years old or less is who I want to target.
27 is cool too. Could get a solid 5 years out of a guy. Especially on the OL
