Eagles currently -10 favorites over Jaguars

McCoy terrifies me but I'm not a believer in the Eagles offense yet. We'll see.

They did score 448 points last year.....in Kelly's first season....

I don't anticipate that number dropping. If anything, I anticipate it improving now that more Eagle players have familiarity with the offense/ terminology.

Bingo.

And the Eagles under Kelly like to utilize their TE's a LOT.

Zach Ertz will probably have a monster game.

Lets see, Marcedes giraffe, or Zach Ertz/ Celek.....

I'll take the Eagles side there.

Foles = Overrated.

JAX D Line > McCoy

Philly O line is suspect and their D is not good.

Quote:However, if your point is simply that Henne matches the team then I'm not sure I'd agree with that, he's probably holding it back to some degree at this point.

My feeling on this is that Henne can play well enough to win games if the team as a whole gives him support. A better QB could help the team win a couple of more games in theory everything else being equal but no, I don't think it's as dramatic a difference as 12-4 compared to 6-10. This isn't KC. In other words, when Bortles goes in this year, he probably won't suddenly elevate us to Superbowl contenders until the rest of the team becomes talented enough to take that next step. That's probably not a popular opinion.

That's an impressive number. But consider the fact that they no longer possess one of the most dangerous deep threats in NFL history and if you think that number won't drop, you're delusional.

Quote:So, you three think the Jaguars hold the Eagles to 24, 17, and 17 respectively??? Laughing

I don't know if you just fell off the turnip truck or what but the Eagles totaled 450 points LAST year, their first with Chip Kelly....its only likely to INcrease from that total from here.

If the Jags can hold the Eagles final score under 30, I'll be impressed.
You're acting like the Eagles are the best offense to ever play the game. That would be the Broncos from last year, and we held them and one of the best QBs of all time to only 35 points.

This Jags defense is better then last years unit was at that point. Plus we've had all off-season to study Foles and the Eagles offense. Philly's WR corp isn't better then our secondary, and isn't better than the Broncos secondary was last year.

Maybe we won't win, but this love fest for the Eagles is making me sick.

I expect this to be a high scoring game, the Eagles have a lot of playmakers on offense in Maclin, McCoy, Sproles, Ertz, etc.., but their defense is bad, really bad. I do like young Fletcher Cox and the incredibly athletic Mychal Kendrick’s, but the Jags should be able to easily
score points if our offensive line holds up in pass pro, the Eagles secondary is awful. I'm predicting a 35-31 Eagles win.

One player can have an impact but they still have a pretty powerful offense. I hope they don't but I can see a scenario where they get into the 35+ area against us. Gonna be a tough test.

Foles is a really good young QB, I'm not sure how anyone can say he's overrated after last year, if he struggles this year you might have a point. The Eagles offensive line is really good, even without Lane Johnson they feature the dominant Jason Peters, the dominant Evan Mathis, and a very good C in Jason Kelce, you obviously are making statements about something you know nothing about.

The Eagles felt so strongly about DeSean that they let him go for free. They don't seem worried.

That Broncos game also had the motivation of being the record underdog.

Desean Jackson's mere presence on the field made it easy for Foles to throw passes. They'll miss that a lot, because no one is afraid of Jeremy Maclin, and we're still trying to see how Riley Cooper will perform without someone pushing the safeties back 25 yards away from the line of scrimmage.

We know this tale all too well with Mike Thomas and Mike Sims-Walker.

I don't disagree with your point that their defense isn't anything to be afraid of.

Thus I have Chad Henne leading the team to 23 points. He wouldn't be doing that vs a good defense.

34-6 Eagles for me, sadly don't think we are ready yet. I see it being a close first quarter with the D keeping us in it but they will be on the field too much and the second half will be a blowout.

I really hope you aren't insinuating that the Eagles will not miss Desean and that the Eagles are foolish enough to believe that as well...  Ninja

I believe in Kelly's offense more than I believe in DeSean Jackson. Time will tell if I am underestimating the loss of Desean or not. They added Matthews, and Ertz will be used a lot more as well.

Plus, last year they had no Maclin.

The Eagles will definitely miss the speed of DeSean, the guy is obviously a headache but that world class speed is hard to replace. I do like Jordan Matthews outlook long-term, with that said, I think their offense will take a step back this year as they're not nearly as explosive vertically as they were in 2013, that's still a damn good offense though.
