What would Davad Garrard do with the current roster?

Yet,  he was on a team with a good Defense.   This helped keep the Jaguars running game in play in many games that David Garrard wasn't getting enough help from his receivers.

If David was in football shape today.  He would be licking his chops to have Robinson. Lee, and, Hurns.  And Ivory is a beast.  Just had a tough learning curve.  And Old Man Dave would put Blake to shame.  And Rub it in on the sidelines with his Hats!

I'd say he would have us in a better spot.... but lets not forget...

the WRs still gotta catch the damn ball...

and our run game is no where near what he had in his tenure

There's no question on this end that even the median season performance level of David Garrard's career would have been a better option for the Jaguars in 2016 than what Blake Bortles provided this season for the team.

The dude plays a good sales pitch.  By wanting to be with the fans and on same token does not care and now blames the same fans.  As much of slack as David took.  Which some of it was not his fault.  He never was a baby and always showed class.

David Garrard had significant limitations as a QB.   To his credit though,  he was a key part of a 2007 Jaguars team that in some seasons would have been good enough to at least get to the Super Bowl.

One has to argue.  Was his limitations.  Based on he was that bad.   Or the receivers made him that way?   Cause if ya take RG3 and Johnny Football for instance.  Did they become that bad due to the receivers helping them be world beaters with (Wright) and (Evans)  Or did they get lost due to not having them around?

That is the age old question.  Many can speculate,  But not know for sure.

And no I am not saying Dave was remotely as good as Cunningham.

What was Jones and Northcutt's issue then?

David Garrard had decent ability.  Yet,  his accuracy and arm strength far from elite and the Jaguars used a relatively simple Offense with him at QB.   To his credit,  he had a season in 2007 that certainly exceeded what I thought he was capable of.

Agreed. But still,  If he can produce like that.  Be 10 times better then Blake is now.

As always, Jaguars fans are obsessed with the QB. There are much more GLARING deficiencies on the roster.

I'm not completely certain Garrard could still play. Wink
