Hurns to be cut? Really?

Why do you honestly think Dave has any control of q move like that?

Coughlin is making the call.  If they grab a QB, look for him to sign Nassib. There's history there.

BTW, is Hurns cut yet?

He's horrible but you will take him? We already have that, we need an upgrade at QB and Barkley is not that

He really has stunk in the NFL, although that surprises me because I remember watching him as USC thinking that one day he'd be a great NFL QB. He lit up the field in college.

I'd take Barkley. He's better than Henne. And Bortles being better is debatable.

Let me ask you a serious question: have you seen a single pass thrown by Matt Barkley since he graduated from USC?

You should of seen Matt Leinart. I thought he was gonna be one of the next great QBs. Barkley wasn't close to his level in college

Detroit let go of Kaaya, I'd swap him out for Henne and move Allen up to 2nd string

If the jags wanted Kaaya they would have drafted him. Absolutely nothing has happened between the draft and now that would have changed their opinion.

I get that the two rookies have shown up in camp, but that is still pretty surprising. Benn being ahead of Hurns is also a head scratcher.

I was expecting:

Westbrook
Cole
Benn

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Westbrook ahead of him, but Cole and Benn listed ahead of him is a bit surprising.
Nonetheless, I'd wager we see Hurns on the field in the slot this Sunday. Whatever way they list that chart, he's the guy they'll most likely trust in that position, IMO.

Also interesting to note that DeCamillis has Marqise Lee listed as the primary punt returner. I knew he'd handle KR, but I thought Westbrook would get the nod at PR.

Well Hurns hasn't done anything since 2015. It's a new regime and every spot has got to get earned again.

I agree that Westbrook ahead of Hurns wouldn't be a surprise, but it's surprising to see that he's ahead of Cole too considering how they divvied up playing time in the preseason. The guy who ran with the 1s and 2s AND rested in the fourth preseason game is behind the guy who only ran with the 3s and 4s.

There are some interesting moves on the defensive side of the ball too (Patmon ahead of Colvin, Smoot being switched from Campbell's backup to third behind Ngakoue and Fowler, waiver claim who hasn't practiced yet ahead of Myrick). Perhaps another thread about the depth chart is in order.

To think two rookies, one picked in the 4th round and the other an UDFA, could cause that much change in the depth chart so quickly is astonishing.

It's amazing to see how far Hurns has fallen so quickly, from starter to 6th.

Let this be a lesson to anyone who might underestimate the value of mid to late draft picks/UDFAs and the preseason.

I don't think any of this is correct. Also, the first official depth chart is to be released on Wednesday.
