Just the parts about murdering slaves.

Quote:You think they are hypocrites for calling out a guy who supported the lies that the Feds put forth?

If you were wrongly accused of a crime and some guy with a megaphone stood outside your door broadcasting the accusations as if they were facts, would you help him do it?

Yes they are hypocrites especially if they are under a federal investigation.

Who's to say they are wrongly accused. They are under investigation and to answer your second question No I wouldn't help him do it.

The SFPD who has also spoken out against CK have been investigated of racial and police misconduct as well.

I find it interesting that certain people here want respect for all....except cops.

It's like people who don't hate cops to the extreme have to put a disclaimer that there are quite a few cops that are complete garbage and they have to be weeded out.  By many of your comments, I wouldn't put you too far from their category.

Quote:They show up afterwards and take a report. You know who shows up when you need them? The firefighters and the paramedics. Mad respect for those people.

I'm not calling them pigs in this situation. It's volunteer work. But come on. It's one dude out of the entire stadium of 60,000 people. And because of one dude, they are taking thier ball and going home. Bunch of babies if you ask me... I'm sick of being PC. Just because you're a cop doesn't mean I'm supposed to bow down to your authority and provide you respect when you haven't deserved it.

You know what would have made me give these cops mad respect? If they would have came out with a statement saying that they completely disagree with CK and his protest, but will defend his right to do it.

That would have been what a true cop would do. These soft butter cups are a bunch of whiners and cry babies.

So they're a bunch of cry babies because they refuse to do volunteer duty. If anyone is soft, it's you and your argument. CK has the right to protest, and so does the SCPD, but, their protest has to be done off duty, unlike that piece of [BLEEP] CK whereas he's technically at work and protesting.

Instead of you clarifying your point, this is your response.

Quote:Yes, they show up afterwards at times. Many times they show up during events and are running into a hostile event, or building while others are running out.

If Kap can wear socks that mock police with pigs in a police hat, and paint a broad stroke of cops by his words and actions and have the SF 49er organization back him, then it is well within the rights of the police to do what they wish as well. Can't have it both ways. And no, you definitely shouldn't be bowing down to any cops. No one has insinuated that. As some have said there are crooked cops, no way around that

Those are all good points. And if I was an officer, I'd probably not take kindly to CK's protest a either.

I'm pretty sure I'd want my union to come out with a statement calling out CK.

I just don't agree with the threat to then not volunteer to protect the rest of the players and fans over a few (in this case 1) protester(s).

I get it, it's on a voluntary basis. But why put the entire staduim, players, and fans on blast? In my opinion it makes the police union look small. It's like they are not looking at the bigger picture. And to be honest, it almost makes CK's protest look that much more valid.

The union would have gained a lot more good will had they come out with a statement saying they disagree, but will do their duty to serve and protect him and all those that are lawfully and peacefully exercising their constitutional rights.

That would have have put them on the high ground and probably garnered a lot of positive press from the media and positive sentiment from the entire public they serve.

What have I said that is deemed to be "racist"?

I can guarantee that the majority of the public already supports their decision. CK has a majority in the sense that most believe in his right to protest but strongly disagree with him doing it like he is. Personally I believe him to be a spoiled punk that probably shouldn't be complaining about a freaking thing.

It's like mega-rich folks telling low income people that they feel their pain. " Oh yeah, you do? Shut the hell up ".

Again, what have I posted on here that was deemed racist, or me celebrating racism?

You made a accusation against me, prove it.

Having a difference in opinion regarding race does not make someone racist.

No, not just that part. It wasn't written for all whites. He talks about poor whites in it as well, mentions that before slaves.

When the organization as a whole supports it, then [BAD WORD REMOVED] on em. If I am not mistaken, the NFL also said they had no issue, or at the very least said it was up to the organization as a whole to clarify their particular stance.

It doesn't in any way make CK's point more valid at all. It's taking a stance of, if you don't like us, then take care of your own and see how it goes. I think a tremendous experiment would be to remove police from certain cities where they aren't wanted or welcome. See how things are going after six months. They'd be begging for them back.

I can agree with your take on a what a good move that would have been for the union to do. I disagree with CK's way of protesting, just as I can see why some would be upset at how the police reacted to how they'd handle it.

Nope. We have to remember that he lived in a time where it was common and mainstream to think and talk of blacks and those who were poor, or outcasts of society in such a negative manner. Many of our countries presidents had similar thoughts but we don't completely disregard what they achieved in history. Many (x 10) Americans, both black and white gave their lives so that blacks could be free, and they fought under the Star Spangled Banner.

Choosing to only focus on the negative removes the full context of why we sing the anthem and honor our flag. The notion that whites are the root of all evil is ridiculous, and although I am not personally offended, it is offensive. There are to many who want to focus on the negatives of this country, and the negatives alone. Never stepping back to see how good it is here. There is no country in the world who is perfect, none. Africa is still a country that has as much, if not more, injustices occuring in the world, and still a country with slavery.

And to add, the anthem we sing did away with the extreme vitriol, and that's a good thing.
