Quote:Buuwwwaaaa! You mad bro? Don't like this "board"? Leave. Your opinions won't be missed. Exactly. It sounds like football wasnt even the issue with him. He saw the lights (cant say money cause it was damn near the same). As a young man im happy he got all he could get and will have a new life seems like. But he better average a sack a game lol. They dont play up there in that NY media. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:We never sign ANYBODY!!! We got a 3 technique from Denver not Miller, not Ware, not Wolfe. We got the one they didnt keep You don't know how Free Agency works... do you? No [BAD WORD REMOVED] we got the one they didn't keep. If we signed Miller, Ware, or Wolfe, we'd have been getting the one they didn't keep. They weren't available for signing, so obviously we couldn't sign them. This is not hard to understand.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Haven't read this whole post, but....Of course, TMD has argued the Jaguars didn't land any good FA because of Bradley. That article from King mentions nothing about Bradley. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
TMD didn't think Vernon was a good Free Agent anyway, though.

Quote:Vernon aint worth that amountNope I would have just gave Bruce Irvin a lil more then Oak and called it a day, Vernon not worth more then JJ Watt

Vernon is a fool with bright lights in his eyes. He's getting about $6 million LESS (due to taxes) to sign with the Giants.
Does he know they play in New Jersey?
Surely football players find ways around paying the state taxes anyway no? Its mentioned a lot in the off season I was just wondering would it be that hard for a football player to avoid paying income tax in a state?

That's harder to get away with than dodging federal taxes lol. States need their monies. Federal government can always print more lol Quote:Surely football players find ways around paying the state taxes anyway no? They find ways to lessen their tax rates through sponsoring foundations and such but will never eliminate them.

If all else (about) equal, I probably pick a team closer to a SB and in a bigger market too. Plus... the 5 year thing mentioned in the article makes sense. At 29 he can start holding out for more money. with the 6 yr deal, at 30 he'd be treated like Clemons with "veteran days off" or MoJo "get on the bus" or whatever Quote:Haven't read this whole post, but....Well, clearly if the team didn't land him, it HAS to be their fault, right? Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Surely football players find ways around paying the state taxes anyway no? Its me tioned a lot in the off season I was just wondering would it be that hard for a football player to avoid paying income tax in a state? Those football players will find themselves bankrupt after their playing days are over when the IRS and the state revenue agencies come with back balances and all the interest and penalties associated with it. They can lessen their tax burden, but they're not going to avoid it, especially in states like NY or NJ where they audit high income people at a pretty high rate. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:Well, clearly if the team didn't land him, it HAS to be their fault, right? The funny thing is Vernon's agent didn't fault the Jaguars at all. He spoke of them in glowing terms if what was attributed to him by Peter King is true. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
It's as if people don't realize this is a VERY good draft to grab pass rushers. Not signing Vernon means we can lock up all of our current young players and still target the top FAs next year. For all that money Jerry Reese shelled out (a GM I respect), there's a decent shot they are not in the playoffs again next year. You don't win free agency by blowing the most cash. Ask the Redskins. This deal may rival the $80M the 49ers dished out for Nate Clements. How'd that work out? The time to move on was yesterday.
Only a chump boos the home team!
Quote:That article really makes me want to root against the guy. Couldn't even call Bradley himself to give him the news? Man up. That certainly seems to be the case. At some point, they're going to reach a level where it's not sustainable. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:The funny thing is Vernon's agent didn't fault the Jaguars at all.I know, but you recognize how a certain sect on this board has reacted to the fact that he wasn't signed. Just look at the OP on this thread. For some, they're not happy if they don't have something to complain about regarding this team. It's their shtick. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'm no longer upset but we probably should have tried to get Mario Williams.
Quote:I'm no longer upset but we probably should have tried to get Mario Williams. Why? He's a bum. He takes so many plays off it's like he's on vacation 90% of the time. I'd rather have Ayers or Bosa than Williams. Quote:I know, but you recognize how a certain sect on this board has reacted to the fact that he wasn't signed. Just look at the OP on this thread. For some, they're not happy if they don't have something to complain about regarding this team. It's their shtick.I can't speak to the OP's motives, but to me, there is a difference between expressing disappointment the team did not land a particular player and placing sole blame on the team for not landing the player. Sometimes, guys simply want to play elsewhere. I wanted Williams or, as a consolation, Vernon. For whatever reason, both guys decided to sign elsewhere. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
