He could one up Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban by winning in the NFL.

1. With College Recruiting,  you usually have to convince multiple family members as well as the prospect.

2.  With NFL Free Agency,  UFAs from other teams in much more a normal year than 2020, come to the team facility. With college recruiting, the travel involved is substantial.

Having expressed all of this, I believe the overall job of an NFL Head Coach is noticeably more taxing than a College Football HC.

Plus there's a lot of cheating in College recruiting.

I'm not sure that Urban was comfortable with that aspect and I think that stress contributed alot to his health problems.

Not to mention, stress that can easily come as a result of dealing with boosters.

Legacy just seems like an odd concern for someone who already quit two jobs where he could have built an amazing legacy.

So he’s deciding between The Jags and chargers?  I kind of hope he chooses LA. Also, I don’t want Baalke here at all

The chargers are a solid team ready to go if they are coached the right way. The jags can be good with a good offseason. I think urban picks the Jags or he doesn't come back to football if i had to guess but who knows.

I hope he refuses to play for meyer, and I hope that that is enough to get shad off of this train...
Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

I liked Urban as a college coach.  I respected him for putting his health first and quitting.
Then he took the Ohio State job.
Obviously he lied to the Gators, their players, and their fans.
I could forgive him for that, but he never asked anyone to.
His offenses at the college level were very gimmicky and his players didn't do well in the NFL.  I mean it's great he won the National championship in gainesville, but somewhere during the four years together, Tim should have learned how to take a snap under center and drop back. Percy should have gotten better at his route tree.
Urban obviously viewed college football as a thing unto to itself, not as preparation for the NFL. And that's fine if that's what college football fans want. But it says Urban needs some "seasoning" if you will as an assistant coach if he wants to have an NFL career.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I do not want Meyer as our HC and I certainly do not want Baalke as our GM.

Please select a GM first and then approach the HC position properly so we have all levels of this organization synchronized correctly.

Not sure who Solly is but some people usually find Dilla credible.

I'm fine with Urban declining.  He either wants it or he doesn't.  If he's not sure if he wants it, then he doesn't want it.

I can't believe we would pursue a coach who isn't sure he even wants to be a coach.

Urban stringing us along says 2 things:

1. He’s a prima-donna

2. Shad needs to grow a pair and find someone else instead of waiting around for this prick

#2 is the right answer.  For Chrissakes, there are multiple great candidates who would love to have this job.  To offer it to a guy who is not sure if he wants it is crazy.

+1.  Shad is making me real nervous about the direction of this team.

Exactly.  As little regard as these media hacks have for the Jags on a normal day, they have absolutly no insight to offer on the team's hunt for a coach or GM.  They will speculate based on what someone else in the media concocted.  They don't know what's actually going on behind the scenes, and Shad isn't exactly sharing his thoughts with them.

My guess is that if he has been offered the job, and was given time to think about it, the clock is just about running out on the decision.  They continued to interview coaches after talking to Meyer, so they're not going to be caught flat-footed if he decides to pass on the job.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Take it for what it’s worth, but I have it on good authority that Urban has been calling around to line up his staff.  Ninja

I heard Bill Cowher's real estate guy has been driving Urban around PVB looking at homes.
