I cant find a soda fountain anywhere in Montreal, every restaurant brings me a can. Is this a standard thing in Canada?

The ones I like are ex-GMs, ex-front office people, and ex-coaches. Those are the smarter ones. Ex-players are generally idiots and one of the main reasons I don't watch pre-game shows. This was the first time I've heard James Lofton and I was not impressed. Dan Fouts, IMO, is the worst. Awful voice and one mistake after another. For those ready to rip me, here's more- I really like Chris Collinsworth. Have at it.

Also, the guy with Sexton (Searcy, maybe?) is not good either, IMO. FWIW, the Carrie Underwood intro to SNF is worth dropping everything to go watch.

I agree there, he wasn't the worst and, yeah, Witten was pretty bad. I loved Gruden, though.

When Cris (ok, before we even start, there's reason enough to hate on him) started, I couldn't stand his commentary. I think he has grown into the profession, though, and he does well to point out what is happening and how momentum shifts without resorting to jockocracy jargon. I too enjoy him on SNF. I haaaaaaaaaaaaate watching a game with Romo calling. He seems obligated to chip in on ANYTHING the PBP guy says, and often it's just talking for the sake of talking. No analysis of the game, or meaningful input about a player, just "Oh you said a thing, so I'm going to say a thing about it too". Searcy was not good. I wonder if someone like Scobee or Mathis would be up for that gig, they seem like guys with personality and knowledge, would make the broadcasts a little more enjoyable. But in all Searcy-ness, I like Romo a lot and Chris C as well.
You know what is really starting to annoy me? The fact that I cannot quit being a fan of the Jaguars. I have a friend who will text me in the 3rd quarter and tell me he's turning off the TV and doing something else. I can't do that. I have to watch every play of every game no matter how bad the team is playing. I cannot quit. I stand 6 feet away from a 65 inch TV. I can't even sit down. And then the inevitable depression that follows the end of the game. 20 weeks a year. It's like being a drug addict.

I know a guy who, as a youngster, went to the very first Patriots game in the AFL in 1960, then went to, watched, or listened to every single game until they won the Super Bowl in 2001. That odyessy took 41 years so you are halfway there. As a postscript, that guy moved to Florida and has been a Jaguars ST holder for years.

Growing up my dad said you take the good, the bad and the ugly and unless you're having a medical emergency, you stay in your seat at the stadium of in your chair at home until the clock reads 00:00. Period.
How can you guys be talking about Jaguar fandom as trivial?
@talk about annoying...@

When at a drive-thru with my wife. We're in line for several minutes:
"Is this what you want?" "Yes" "Are you sure?" "Yes" Then, without fail, without fail, as soon as the speaker comes to life with their canned greeting, my wife starts speaking in my other ear: "Do they have... Ask them if they still offer... What about..." It's. Simply. Maddening. (09-22-2019, 07:45 PM)homebiscuit Wrote: When at a drive-thru with my wife. We're in line for several minutes: Go through the drive-thru backwards.
