The Fans and Khan Experience

Quote:The game favors offense. If you expect to win week in and week out with defense in a league whose rules favor offense then you will be doing so against the odds. It isn't about fans wanting it just because it is more entertaining, they are wanting it because the league rules favor offense.

Last week the most TD's in NFL history were scored. That isn't a fluke. You old school NFL fans may not like the new NFL, but this is the new NFL and if you aren't adapting then you will be left behind. Just look at the Jags for the last 12 years.
I don't think that most of us would refute the direction of the league as a whole and the necessity to score more  -  only the sentiment of fans nots attending or  not enjoying  defensive contests.

Does fantasy football play a part in the league's wanting to generate more offense? It seems everyone, including many heretofore disinterested women, is into FF now.

I didn't read the thread so just throw me out if this has been beaten to death already.

Yeah...I tried to get the thread back on topic but it was a hardcore fail attempt.

Ya, personally I wouldn't mind seeing my Jags win every game 2-0. The Stillers mnf game is one of my top 5 games easy.

Uh no.  Just the top of my head when Morten anderson missed the kick in '96 to send us to the playoffs was more exciting. Yes I was there

Uhh...no Chief.

9-0 was against the Steelers on MNF.  It was a clear night...no rain.

There was a 41-3 Jaguars won over SF in the rain in 1999.

There was also a 10-9 win over SF in 2005 on an overcast day where Garrard had a bunch of passes nearly picked that were dropped.

But there was no 9-0 win over SF.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

That's actually screwdriver meet nail.  The direction of the league / necessity to score more and whether fans appreciate and show up for defensive battles are two completely different discussions.

It was the 10-9 win I was thinking of then. I thought is rained heavily as I sat under the poncho to the very end.

Quote:A boring team that just barely gets by in the reg season by beating bad teams with consistent 13-10 type scores is going to create much less buzz than a team that exhibits some domination while going through their reg season schedule.
