The talent level between Bridgewater and Mariota is slowly closing

Quote:Then why not discuss it in... oh, I don't know... maybe the "Jaguars" section of the board? It was a frigging football game guys! Why are you so angry with yourselves that you won't even allow yourself to enjoy it? Lighten up a little, you might have a genuine laugh every now and then.

Probably because you can't discuss college players in the Jaguars or NFL forums without it being moved.  The College forum is essentially "College & The Draft" forum.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I'd be willing to bet the contents of my right hand desk drawer that a thread entitled "Jaguars 2014 draft needs to correct the QB position" would stay there.

Even if it wouldn't though, these two guys are acting all fascist-like in trying to stifle any conversation that they don't approve of. It's just football talk, it doesn't need to be so serious.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I have tried to be serious and talk strickly pros and cons of both prospects and I was just told by several teddy bears that I'm wrong. Even though it is my opinion. There right and that's that.

Unlike Manziel and Mariota, Teddy plays in a REAL offense.

There is a reason why Chip had to make a lot of O changes when he came to the NFL.

Smile no offense. I don't have anything against either team.

You either have "it" or you don't, no matter who you happen to play. TB has "it". MM doesn't.

Does Teddy face weak competition,  yes or no?

Teddy or Louisville? Because the quality of opponent has nothing to do when evaluating a QB. All that matters is if you can watch the QB getting pressured or not.  I can list several games where Teddy experienced a ton of pressure.

Rutgers (This year and last year), Kentucky (Beast Za'Darius), USF (Beast DeeDee Lattimore), Florida.

The fact is, Teddy is Teddy no matter what the defense is like. The USF game for example showed Teddy getting rocked on several occasions so he started dominating them by waiting for the pressure and dropping it over the blitz. He doesn't care about getting hit. At all.

Honestly I would be happy with either qb. I would prefer Bridgewater because he is more of a pure passer than Mariota. MM also seems to be more of a project than Bidgewater is and would have to really heavily on his physical abilities for a few year before his passing ability raised.

Either way thos they both are premium qb's I would just prefer Bridgewater.

When was the last time teddy played a top 5 team. Top ten?

I really don't see Mariota declaring this year. Like I have said;

1) Mariota talks about being homesick not being able to travel home enough. If he comes out this year he is almost guaranteed to be playing about as far from Hawaii as he could be in the AFC/NFC South.

2) He apparently loves Oregon and loves being a college student.

3) He won't have his degree like Teddy (Graduates in December).

4) National Championship shot ruined.

5) Low 60% completed in a high screen/swing pass offense with major fumbling issues. Last four game fumble tumbles; 2 (2 lost), 2 (1 lost), 2 (1 lost).

You would be happy if they took MM with the 1st or 2nd pick? It would be a huge setback to the franchise.

So you admit you have zero idea how to evaluate a Quarterback.

Is this really the argument you are standing behind?

Every college QB faces weak competition compared to NFL comp.  Therefore this "weak schedule" argument is and always will be invalid.

Just answer the dang question. is it that hard to do?

If I had to choose between a "dual threat" type QB or a traditional "pocket passer", I'll take the pocket passer every time. Especially since everyone recognizes the potential and it seems hard to judge the two. I.E. I'd rather have Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Dan Marino over Colin Kaepernick, Michael Vick or Russell Wilson.

That's just my thoughts on the matter. One style seems to have sustained success in this league and doesn't seem to be faltering in the least.

I simply watch and find things I like and don't like I dont skirt around the obvious. Something you are doing right now. I have stated ad nauseum things that Teddy does well and also things mariota does / doesnt. Teddy bears cant be objective. Got it. It's a fact!
