Last movie youve seen and rate it.

Quote:Saw Gravity yesterday. It was in 3D and it was outstanding. From a technical standpoint, it really is unlike any film I have ever seen. Definitely one you want to see in theaters for the full experience. Just saw it in 3D also. I have to second your opinion, it was much better than anticipated. Man of Steel 7.5/10, as a big smallville fan it was weird seing pete ross as a ginger and the chemistry with lois and clark wasnt as good as it was in the show, maybe im biased but yeah. overall it trumped the previous superman movie by miles. costner was great as jonathan kent and the gladiator guy was also really good as jor el.
I mentioned this movie in the Halloween thread, but has anyone ever seen The Room? It's considered the best worst movie of all-time. It's so bad, but so good because the entire movie is quotable it's ridiculous.
I watched As I Lay Dying last night. John Franco wrote the screenplay, directed and acted in this faithful adaptation of the classic William Faulkner novel. Very enjoyable movie. Not a blockbuster, but satisfying in its own way.

John Franco wrote the screenplay, directed and acted in this faithful adaptation of the classic William Faulkner novel. Very enjoyable movie. Not a blockbuster, but satisfying in its own way. I've read it but I have a hard time staying on track with Faulkner's prose. I find myself rereading passages to get their meaning. I love the opening of the book as he describes the brothers walking different paths across a tract of land. Very subtle but hilarious. Hopefully that's in the movie. I'll have to watch it.
Watched Top Gun the other night for about the 1,398th time.
Gotta love all that not quite so subtle homoerotic sexual tension. Oh, and random shirtless volleyball scenes about playing with the boys after chasing sunsets. 53/10.

This isn't really much of a spoiler, because it's apparent from the opening scenes, but Franco handles this by using a split screen, showing the same span of time from different perspectives. It seemed awkward at first, but once I got used to it, it was effective. As I Lay Dying, as well as most of what Faulkner wrote, was a challenge to read. You almost have to get to the end, soak it all in, then put the pieces together to really understand what happened. I find that Cormac McCarthy's works present the same challenge.

It's a really good read, so far. Horrendously brutal at times. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Just watched Bad Grandpa. It's good for a few belly laughs if you like Jackass humor. I do.
What shocked me was the fact that a few parents actually brought their elementary school-aged children to watch it. I was dumbfounded. Are these people stupid? Anyway... |
