Jags Re-sign Marqise Lee

At this point, I'm almost expecting the Jags to take a QB in the first or second. There's no money left to sign a back up unless Hurns is released or traded.

Of the guys left I like Terrelle Pryor and Jordan Matthews the most. Moncrief a close 3rd, but not sure how redundant any of those guys are with our current group

For everyone complaining about Lee's new contract.....Paul Richardson got a 5 year 40 million dollar deal with 20 mil guaranteed.

I'd rather have Lee any day. If he stays healthy I am betting next season will be statistically his best yet.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I like Meredith a ton. Otherwise nah I'll wait for the draft.

Paul Richardson at least has deep speed. I don't want Richardson, but I'd take him over Lee.

Last two seasons :

201 targets

Hurns :
1,174 snaps
132 targets.

Precisely.

He's being phased out, while Lee is being included more.

He's been injured more, and still only 1 TD less in 70 less targets.

480 yards in 15 games last year. He'll be 33 years old in May. Pass

You conveniently left out Lee has nearly 600 more yards as well.  This isn't close.  And it's not hard to see, either.

Lee is becoming Hurns prior to Hurns injuries.  Hurns is becoming what Lee was when Lee was hurt.  Their paths are taking opposite directions.

Why are we arguing between two incredibly average overpaid WRs?

I'm happy they retained him. I predict a huge season from him.

In 500+ snaps and 70+ targets.  You forgot to provide the context to the stats above, which is important.

You said he was being phased out , which would imply the team is actively putting Lee over him. When in reality Hurns has just been injured. He hasn't been phased out.

Based on everything we've seen so far Hurns has been inarguably more productive and valuable than Lee.

And yes both are overpaid.

I suspect Hurns will also be retained. I would also be good with that.

Assuming we truly sign Moncrief - he, Cole, Westbrook, and Lee will be our top 4.

Hurns is likely to be released if not restructured.

Talk about "more productive and valuable..."

At the 5th spot, maybe.

Wait, do you think Lee has been more productive and valuable as a Jaguar so far?

And Moncrief is legitimately a worse receiver than Hurns + Lee.

Hurns's contract is too big, hence the need for a restructure or release. Very simple stuff.

As I clearly illustrated, Lee has proven to be the more productive and valuable WR the last two seasons.  It's why he got the contract.

On the other hand, Hurns has done nothing but decline since his contract.  If you can't see Hurns best days are behind him and he's likely on the way out because of that, I can only guess that you're a "U" fan.  Logically, there's no other explanation.  Cole is better and took his job.

If you're just going to troll and not base your arguments in reality, we've got nothing more to discuss.  You've yet to successfully rebut a single point I've made, anyway.  But continue on... odd hill to choose to die on.  Again, unless you see the world through Miami Hurricane colored glasses, I suppose.

It's that old "what have you done for me lately" thing at work on the Lee/Hurns situation.

It says max value of 38 mil. That means it's an incentive laden contract. He only gets paid that amount if he performs.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with this contract if Lee goes out there and performs next season.
