The Jags could pay him. Do they want to? Probably not.

 

For that matter we'll see if anybody does.

 

For the Jags,  even more than Adrian Peterson's contract,  the trade compensation the Vikings would likely ask in return would probably prevent a trade from happening.

 

I would be surprised if the Vikings would trade Peterson to the Jags for less than the equivalent of the Jags 2015 2nd Round pick.

I wouldn't trade a pick for Peterson. He's got a massive contract, is 30, hasn't play in a year, and has over 2,000 career rushing attempts. Pass.

Dallas and Arizona were the only two teams I heard linked to him. I think Dallas no longer has the money available to take on this years salary after signing Hardy. Arizona said recently that they don't want to trade for his current contract. I would like to know how much more is guaranteed. I'm usually against paying a RB huge money but I would take the risk as long as you can get out in two years or less without dead money.


I think Minnesota would take a third or less for him. I don't think any teams will offer more. They are paying Wallace big bucks now and both sides seem to want to move on. The question is who can afford him(not many) and who will give the most for him.

I would be fine waiting until the 3rd to take a rb. But we need to do that. We need additional talent at that position.

Denard and Toby would be a good combo imo. Unless Gordon/Gurley are there in round 2 im content with seeing if those two are a capable tandem with an improved o-line. Then wait till next year if you need to address RB. There are still other positions Id rather spend a 2nd round pick on.

We need a 3 down back that can catch the ball out of the backfield. And a solid handed slot receiver. Then it is all in Blake's hands. The tools to produce offensively would be there at that point.
