Bradley

Quote:Why does Bradley act like he won the Super Bowl in his post-game speech?

I've never seen Carroll, Harbaugh, Coughlin, McCarthy, Payton, Tomlin, Dungy, Cowher, Belichick, Jimbo Fisher, Saban, etc. act like that.

This team needs a head coach, not a cheerleader. He doesn't exhibit the ability to lead. The team is 1-6, sure, enjoy your first win, but not like you just hoisted the Lombardi.

Man the Jags are in trouble.

Quote:Because as I've been saying for weeks....Badly is over his head as a head coach in this league.

Someone brought up last week that time that he did the chest bump thing with one of his players last year when they were still down by 30. This is like that.

Quote:I have to agree with you. He just doesn't exude "head coach".

Regards..................the Chiefjag

This has got to be one of the dumbest reasons to complain about Bradley's performance. There are many things you can use against him but this doesn't appear to be one of them.

This team is not a winning team. Many newer players don't have that experience in the NFL yet, and Bradley's giving them something to work toward. He's making winning enjoyable; he's making winning something worth having.

A lot of players worked hard Sunday. Bradley's giving them a reason to do it again.

Quote:Belichick didn't really "fail" in Cleveland. He built that team up to a division winner, and won a playoff game there, as well as the league's best defense.

Everything fell apart in 1995 because of the situation surrounding the team/ impending move. No head coach would have won there in 1995.

Bilichick was horrible in Cleveland. His "winning" team went 5-11 the following year. He didn't win his division as you suggest. His roster didn't win a game when he was fired and the team moved to Baltimore, either.

He was 7-14 until Tom Brady stepped in for Bledsoe.

He gets a lot of credit for his adjustments, but he hasn't always made very good decisions. I don't think I've had one person tell me how he deserves all the credit he gets... I think it's obvious that it all falls on Brady's shoulders.

Quote:I'd say it was because of an over the top post game speech.

Could you imagine Bill Parcells acting that way after a win leaving the record at 1-6?

You're comparing apples to oranges. That's not Parcell's coaching style. But I could absolutely imagine Pete Carrol or Jim Harbaugh acting that way. Would they get a pass for actually being excited about a win? I mean, give me a break. This was a lot of players in that locker room's first NFL win, and you're criticizing the way he acted post game?

Quote:Their defense improved after Gus left and they won 3 straight playoff games giving them a SB title.

Their defense when Gus was there the last year blew a giant lead in their only playoff win that season and had to be bailed out by a last drive score.

How's that defense looking this year BTW?

You all are honestly saying those coaches would do that at 1-6?

I really doubt that Carroll or Harbaugh would have acted similarly at 1-6.

What does that matter? Bradley is long gone. The defense improved last season after Bradley's departure.

Yeah, because there's no reason to be sullen and angry after a win. This isn't like in a game when you're down 35-0 and you get a sack. This is a totally different animal. What kind of message does it send to the players if they play their tails off and get a win and you come in the locker room looking like your dog just died? Gus is a players' coach, and I didn't see one player in that locker room that looked like they disapproved of his post game speech or his attitude. It's a win, let them enjoy it. Geez.

You're right I had it backwards. Atlantas defense choked up the big lead.

Bradley's defense was bad that day from the start. Seattle gave up 28 points and over 400 yards of offense.

Seattles defense did have a late 4th Q lead though. And couldn't hold it.

What a bunch of whiney couch potatos...just because he isn't status quo doesn't mean he cant win in this league. Just like people were calling for Babich head a few weeks ago, where'd all that go?

... coaching styles really have nothing to do with success, so I don't really know what comparing JDR or Wade Phillips to Gus Bradley has to do with anything. My whole point is that's who Gus is, it doesn't make him any less of a HC.

LOL, anyone who's smart is still calling for Babich's head and isn't letting one good game vs Cleveland change their opinion.

Babich is not a good DC. He wasn't in Chicago, and he's not here.

I really think anybody could have coached the Jags to 5-18 over the last 2 seasons.

I'm sure their defensive FA acquisitions had absolutely nothing to do with it. They got better with Avil, Bennett, etc. Now they've lost some talent on that side of the ball and they're struggling.
