For the record I wanna say I hope I am wrong and Fowler is the next freaking Lawrence Taylor. Anyone that reps the Jags I want to succeed. I'm just frustrated with his play because I do think he's an athletic freak. These Jags sure do let us down a lot so I hope I'm just jumping the gun here. This team is so unsteady.

I'd like to see our players in a better system like Schwartz has in Philly. Fowler has looked good rushing standing up on the outside in a OLB spot (3-4). Apparently every player we've drafted the last 5 years is a bust because this team is dead and doesn't do anything.
No pain, no gain.

And has played in like 5 games in his career. Bust. You're the worst. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Obviously way too early to call bust... but I don't even understand why this is a conversation...
Fowler has had a number of moments in which he's shined. He's had flashes. That's what you expect out of a Rookie Pass Rusher with potential. Has he taken some bad penalties? Yes. So has Ramsey. He a bust too? Yannick is starting over him! BUUUUUSSSTTT... Or... it could simply mean that, once again, Dave hit in the 3rd round. Yannick has played very well for a rookie. Without question better than anyone reasonably expected. That's a GOOD thing. The kid is young and he's learning the NFL game. He may, in fact, turn out to be a bust... but let's see at least a full season first..

; ; Supporting from long distance Quote:stop wasting draft picks on over-hyped gators in general, especially on defense, they're forgettable, anyone remember the safety who was suppose to be so good and the last d-lineman that hardly ever started. Other than Freddy T these clowns just don't stack up. How about Dunlap? The common denominator with the bad picks is starting to look like the team/organization they go to
It's a little early to say Fowler is a bust. We've seen flashes, but nothing consistent. At best, he's still working his way back from the ACL, and probably a bit miscast in his current role. At worst, he's a bust. I don't think we're there yet.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Whether he is or not remains to be seen. You've got to give him 2 full years playing before knowing what you have in him.
And let's not even talk about how bad this coaching staff is so any player's development will likely be slower than if they were on a team with a good staff.
Just don't look at Williams, Beasley, Cooper and Gurley's stat pages, you'll feel better.

Quote:Just don't look at Williams, Beasley, Cooper and Gurley's stat pages, you'll feel better. Look at Beasley's stat page from his rookie season. Four sacks total.
Don't blame it on Fowler, blame it on Caldwell who has put all the pressure of providing a pass rush on 2 first year players. Not a smart thing to do if you're in the business of winning football games.
Fowler may be a bust but it's too early to tell. Quote:Look at Beasley's stat page from his rookie season. Four sacks total.Or don't look at the stat page, and watch how Beasley caused a lot of disruption that didn't quite get home. Now they are getting home. That's what you want to see. Fowler is doing absolutely nothing when he isn't stunting. Except getting a lot of exceedingly stupid penalties. |
