Fowler Jr a bust

#1

The most irrelevant defensive end on the squad. Gets stonewalled and gives up. Already replaced as a starter by Ngakoue.

That's what happens when you don't use the strengths of your players.

He is not a DE. Just like Blake need a up tempo offense. Just like Yeldon is not a power back. Just like Cyprien is not...an NFL player.

He missed an entire year of football. I'm willing to give him more time.

Can we give it more than 7 games with a deadbeat coaching staff before we start declaring players busts?

I think Fowler's going to end up at linebacker, with Jack taking over the middle and Ngakoue as the right end (can we just stop saying "LEO" in anticipation of Gus' firing?).

He gets knocked on his butt alot. And then he commits unsportsmanlike penalties in order to save face and look tough.

If he's not a DE, after being drafted 3rd overall he is already a bust.

Got benched for a 3rd round rookie after the first game of the season. Yea I'd say he's a bust.

Ngakoue sucks agaisnt the run too much to be a full time starting DE on an actual playoff caliber defense.

Lets put him in a 34 so he can not hit the QB just like in a 43

lol exactly. He'd run right into the tackle and be stopped just like he is now.

It's pathetic how fast this board flips on players. It takes more then a year for most DE to get going, add to that he tore his ACL which means he was out of football for a year.

Clowny took 3 years to get going Fowler should get more then 7 games.

And don't give me "well Yanick is already better then him" stuff because Yanick has had 2 good games just like Fowler.

Clowney had micro-fracture issues and Fowler has been man handled. They are already using stunts with Fowler like they did Branch for him to get pressure.

What nonsense! You can determine a bust within 7 games.

As I've said in the other two threads in which he was called a bust, his position (whether it's the right position for him or not) historically takes two to three years to grow into before production ramps up. There are exceptions but they are actually few in number.

He's not showing much promise, but it's just too soon to call him a bust.

Fowler has not shown anything in his career ever to suggest he is a pass rushing defensive end. Not in highschool, not in college, and not through 7 games in the NFL. What makes you think a switch will all of a sudden be turned and he will become a double digit sack artist? Fowler is who he is, a fast linebacker who hustles and plays agaisnt the run well and can do a little bit of everything and can get pressure rushing the A-Gap. Can he be a good player? Yes. Is he ever going to be worht the 3rd pick in the draft? NO.
