Year 3 of the rebuild. The arrow is not pointing up. When to hit the reset button?

Geez... Three games into the season and some of you are calling for another rebuild... Just because we lost to a team that pretty much embarrasses everyone they go up against? We get a few injured players back just in time for Indy, this week. We beat them and we're in 1st place in our division and control our destiny. It's not an insurmountable task, so quitcherbitchin and enjoy the ride... There's still a lot of football left to be played.

Yeah, winning this Sunday cures all...

The question is do these coaches have what it takes to have this team ready to win?

The guy who started this thread literally started a thread after last week's game saying how positive he felt about the team.

I would love to be wrong. Would not be the first time. I thought we would be able to run on the Patriots after seeing what Pittsburgh and Buffalo were able to do against the same exact defense. But alas, wrong again.

I hope this team goes 8-8 with alternating wins and loses all year.  This message board will be so entertaining!!

But that would mean they end the season with a win, so it will be a good offseason right?

It's the one bright spot of a loss. Watching the kindergartners throw uninformed tantrum after tantrum. They piss and moaned about Blakes comments and then put on display for all to read the exact sentiment in which he expressed. They question every aspect of the players, coaches, front office skills and decision making while pounding away at their keyboards like spoiled little children. #genererationtimout. Entertaining indeed.

The problem is that I see teams go from being a zero to a hero all in a year... Another rebuild is something I cannot fathom...
These are the comments that make me think most of you guys aren't watching other teams. The cardinals did not get good out of no where. They have been developing talent and acquiring talent over time and now it's coming together. Same as the 9ers (around the 2010 time frame) same as the Seahawks, same as the Chiefs, same as the bills etc....

This team really was just that bad when Caldwell came and we were in salary cap hell as well. I know people had their hearts set on a 3 year build but the idea was to be competitive this year and win more games than last year.

All these other teams are going through this long progressions too most fans here just don't pay attention to them because they aren't named the Jaguars.

Realistically this team has the talent to compete most weeks. We are just facing so many injuries to the top 15 of our roster it's ridiculous. As the season progresses I think we will see them improvement we are hoping for.

This is often understated and filed under the excuses category, but it is worth giving some attention. I'd really be interested to see exactly how our injuries measure up against those of other teams factoring in the on-the-field value of the injured player (meaning, starters or key back ups). Someone (I forget who) said that our injury total is right in line with league average and I believe that...but is it really fair to put equal value on, say Julius Thomas for us and a random dime corner in Oakland (just as an example)?

I'm with you. Looking at the guys we have out Jockle, Fowler, Cyp, Marks, Thomas that's five starters right there. Guys like Robison, Evans, and Branch play significant roles. I can't think of any teams right now that is missing that much front line talent.

The Cowboys are missing Romo, Dez and Gregory but that's only one team and still only half of our missing players.

Nah. That means we didn't tank for better draft position.

You are right. Complain we gave Houston better draft position

I love when people say "it's just 3 games"... like the previous ones with this HC don't matter.

I love when people act like nothing has changed in 3 years as if the ONLY thing that matters is the HC.

Quote:Didn't MJD regularly run against 8 man fronts?
MJD is one of the best backs from the past decade - super-star, amazing talent. He started off as a KR and worked his way up in his first few years. TJ shouldn't be treated or approached any differently.
