Can we please get a new DC?

Because a different DC could make slow, small guys, into big, fast ones?

You are right, we should have All Pro's at every position before we can judge the guy  Laughing

How many players on the Jaguars team would you say are top 10 in the league at their position?

By the law of averages they should at least have 6 or 7 of them between the offense and defense.

You can easily make the argument for Josh Allen. After him it gets pretty tough, though.

Essentially it looks (to me, anyway) like the team has lower end talent that's tying Caldwell's hands, plus they're undisciplined in a simple scheme, a lot of times.

None of the linemen and that includes Walker although he’s improving. I’m an advocate that you build from the lines back. It’s easier for a merely competent QB for example to play behind a great line than vice versa. Same for an average secondary behind a great DL.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I agree...but I don't think Doug operates that way.
Black Jaguar: Yeah, it's a thing.

It was always the Jags!!!!

Maybe Doug should start executing and exercising his executive functioning of his frontal lobe.

Jags lead the league in fewest explosive plays allowed, and are near the top in the other two categories displayed in chart.

NYC4Jags is holding a candle light vigil to ensure that doesn't happen.

You posted a very relevant stat I highlighted 9+ weeks ago.
The defense crumbled since then.

What is your point exactly?

Caldwell looked like a hero until the niners fully exposed the roster and scheme deficiencies.
This should be obvious.

That happened 2 weeks after this post of mine that you have quoted.

Caldwell hasn't impressed anyone since November 12.

49ers exposed his scheme and he was not good enough to adjust in that timespan

At this point I don’t know what it is - it seems like players have an ON/OFF switch - Allen has a contract year SWITCH ON - Rayshawn last year as a jag SWITCH OFF

players like need a rah rah guy to keep them motivated to even play, we just looked so flat

He’s not the problem, but he’s not the solution either. I’d like to see the jags have a defensive coordinator that used Walker and Lloyd better.

Caldwell should receive praise when it's warranted..

It hasn't been warranted in almost the last half of the season.

I'm not going to give Caldwell praise for individual player effort either. There's only so far individual effort can take the team.
