When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised by a movie, especially when you aren't expecting much.

 

All I really ask from a movie is to entertain me,

 

If you go into a movie expecting it to be one of the best movies you have ever seen or even to be considered really good/great you will end up being disappointed more often then not if you watch a lot of movies.

 

Just entertain me and make me want to watch the ending.

 

I'm sure most people who have watched a lot of movies, have at some point, stopped watching a movie or 2 because it was just too stupid or terrible to continue on with and they just couldn't watch it all the way to the end.

 

It happens.

 

 

I really like gross humor and this one had tons of it. I'm normally not a Seth Rogen fan at all, but he was actually funny in this film.

Will Smith not being in the sequel made me want to watch it. I hated his character in the first one. He ruined the movie for me.

I got bored and watched some horror flick on Netflix streaming called, Satanic. It had the oldest daughter from Modern Family in it and the trailer made it look pretty good. I was wrong. It sucked. Nothing happens for like 3/4 of the film and then it gets really stupid. There are virtually no special FX. It was one of the most boring and uneventful horror films I've ever seen. I'd give it a 2 out of 10. I can't wait until Tuesday though. Sausage Party is out on DVD. I can't wait to see it.

I love the Marvel universe, but this film just looks too weird for my taste. All that alternate reality stuff does nothing for me. The trailer reminded me a lot of Inception and I literally despised that film. I know I'll end up at least trying to get through Dr. Strange, so I'm hoping it will surprise me.

I love the Marvel universe, but this film just looks too weird for my taste. All that alternate reality stuff does nothing for me. The trailer reminded me a lot of Inception and I literally despised that film. I know I'll end up at least trying to get through Dr. Strange, so I'm hoping it will surprise me.

Doctor Strange stories are not generally terrestrial...and if they are in the beginning, they don't stay that way for long. When you have characters who can literally warp/manipulate reality you have to have a setting built around them that fits their abilities. You can't put a character like this in a story like Winter Soldier (just as an example) where by rights, the protagonist could literally wave his hand and end the conflict in one fell swoop.

 

I was apprehensive about this particular movie because magic in comics has always seemed difficult to convey on screen. Having said that, I did really dig this film. Besides, we all know the root reason for Marvel making this movie is so that Doctor Strange can do a run-in on the next Avengers movie to try and make it a little more believable because let's be frank. This Avengers team vs. Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet has no business being a movie (if you know anything about the Infinity Quest, Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War storylines).

I read where the next Avengers film is gonna have something like 67 superheroes/villains. I can't wait. I have a feeling it's where they will kill off Iron Man.

I just watched Sausage Party today. Although I definitely liked it, I wasn't quite as impressed by it as I thought I would. Maybe it was because they already showed the best parts in the red band trailer. In any case, I do have to say that there is a scene near the very end that was almost as shocking as the marionette sex scene in Team America: World Police. I don't want to give it away, but it's worth the watch, just for that scene alone. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Last night I got to see a low budget thriller that has been receiving a lot of buzz on the internet for it's disturbing content. It's called, She Who Must Burn. I'm always curious about these types of movies and someone even compared it to Martyrs, which haunted me for weeks, so I had to see it. The good news is that it was a pretty good film, but the bad news was that I didn't find it disturbing, in the least. Undoubtedly, some people will, but maybe I've seen so much that I've become jaded to this kind of thing. Who knows? Anyway, for a low budget picture, it was quite effective. The cinematography was good, the actors did a very nice job, especially the creepy religious extremist family. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the ending though, but it wasn't terrible either. Overall, I'd give this a 7 out of 10. It was well worth the watch.
