Taken in context - he's been talking about the D-Line for the entire two minutes prior to the question. He may just mean Fowler is the best athlete on the line.

Also - let's not get too worked up about Campbell paying him a big compliment. He also clearly stated that he's got work to do. He then answered the next question with "Watching the guys before me, the best players always work the hardest."

I think Campbell is going to be a very good guy to have around for Fowler, Ngakoue and Smoot. (not to mention he's one of the best big ends in the league)

The question I asked on reddit while the old boards were melting down, which unfortunately went unanswered, is what happens with the stunts this year? 2.5 of Fowler's 4 sacks were unblocked on those plays. That's a good way to try to scheme up a pass rush when you have a guy on the dline to essentially waste crashing down for the double team like Abry/Alualu/Odrick.

However, do we sacrifice Malik or Calais's opportunity to make a play for themselves to try to free up Fowler on stunts this year? I don't think I would personally.

If we're in a game where the pass rush isn't quite there, then why not bring in Fowler on some stunts.

I just doubt that the EV for a Fowler stunt is really ever going to be higher than the EV from a traditional Fowler rush + a Malik/Calais rush. If one of them is off the field sure maybe sprinkle some in, but then it might get predictable too.

Hopefully he does well this year. Last season though, he lost his cool far too often. He needs to get that under control first and foremost if he is going to go to the next levell

I don't know if I would characterize his penalties as a loss of cool, but her certainly had some inexplicable penalties to be sure.  

He lined up offsides more than any DL I've ever seen, and there was one penalty on an attempted FG block (IIRC v. Baltimore) that gave them another chance after a miss.

All of those penalties became really tiresome.  Fortunately, he started to cut down on them later in the season.

I don't think we will have to worry about that this year with our current coaching brain trust. I have a feeling Marrone, and more specifically Coughlin, might break their foot's off in his [BLEEP] if he has the same mental breakdowns this year on the field.

A lot of people have gushed about Fowler this off-season. Sexton was just on the Jaguars Today show yesterday and wouldn't shut up about him. He stands out like a sore thumb.

My expectations are still not that high on him but if we could get a Jadeveon Clowney type player out of him where he's just very disruptive and in the backfield frequently he's worth the pick two years ago.

People were ready to write Clowney off after 2014 - 2015 and he ended up being a huge bright spot in Watt's absence last year. Fowler could turn it on at any point.

I haven't seen anything to warrant a first round pick let alone third overall. Most of his production came from well designed blitzes. Which was a giant disappointment after the camp and scrimmage domination we saw leading up to real games. I see no bend or hand technique to get excited about him being a premiere pass rusher in the league. Ngakoue is panning out to negate the lack of production from him though.

Wash feels Fowler has matured a lot and is “more focused on the little details” than he was in the past. He also thinks Fowler’s work with defensive line coach Marion Hobby has paid off with improved technique.

“We see a lot of improvement in the pass rush side of things,” Wash said, via Mike Kaye of First Coast News. “Obviously we’re not coming speed to power. Everything is speed-based right now. You see improvement in his hands, his get-off. A lot of it was, [Hobby] had to fix his stance. He has concentrated a lot on that and you see the explosion and burst that we’re looking for.”
