Glad we dodged this bullet.  He was the RB I wanted if we didnt draft one in the 1st round.

Same here. Fournette was best case scenario.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I wanted Mixon in the 2nd.

Considering we got Cam Robinson in the second round, drafting Fournette seems to have been a reasonable choice. The alternative of Jamal Adams + either Robinson or Mixon upgrades the safety position but leaves a hole at RB or OL.

I suspect nothing will really come of it (from a legal standpoint) if he in fact does pass a urinalysis.  At the most it looks like the only thing is guilty of is poor decision making.

Seems like the gun stuff was all legal. With permits and license and all that.

Marijuana "wasn't his" cuz friends without big contracts will always take the hit. Right Cris Carter?

NFL will probably hit him with a pee pee test and be done with it.

Even still.... you don't want your guys rolling with these types of folks.

Stupid kids lol

Yep.. what a bullet

Quote:True to his lawyer’s statement in the aftermath of Sunday’s arrest in Austin, Texans running back D’Onta Foreman tested negative for marijuana. He submitted to a voluntary examination at a Houston laboratory.

That’s the word from Foreman’s attorney, Chip Lewis. He was quoted by numerous Houston-area media outlets with the following statement,

“The lab has returned D’Onta’s results,” Lewis said. “He is crystal clean, everything negative for any illicit drugs, marijuana, absolutely nothing. It illustrates what D’Onta has said since his arrest that he was not smoking marijuana. He did not possess marijuana. It makes it clear that he was telling the truth. He was not using marijuana.”

The drug test does not have any official sway on the criminal case, but it certainly helps Foreman’s public perception. It also helps the rookie from Texas City to convince the Texans he was simply in the wrong place with the wrong people at the wrong time and not doing anything wrong on his own accord other than that.

This negative test could convince the district attorney to drop any charges, including the associated gun charge. If Foreman is not guilty of the marijuana charge, his gun possession becomes perfectly legal.

Lol, he was on a college campus and *gasp* there was marijuana present.. Oh the humanity, not on a college campus.  Rolleyes

I mean it's not like he's starting his own women's fight club, running around assaulting police officers, racking up a ungodly amount of traffic violations, assaulting citizens, stomping on their glasses, and throwing their property into a lake..  From a #3 ovrl pick (not a 3rd rounder on trumped up charges) that's not a bullet to dodge, it's a damn artillery shell. Just saying.

I liked Foreman in the draft if the Jags were to wait a few rounds on a back and I still think he'll be pretty good for the tinhorns.

However, let's not gloss over the facts that he was:
  • on a college campus after midnight with a firearm
  • the marijuana wasn't just on  a college campus - it was in his car
  •  he now has a court date scheduled that conflicts with training camp
I think it all blows over - but there was definitely a heaping helping of stupidity served up by the rookie RB here.
