Ryan and Alfie hate hate hate Bortles. And they really don't want him to improve because of the crow they will be force fed. They certainly won't eat it willingly.

I like the fact that Coach Marrone chose to leave them out there in the heat/humidity/rain for some time, though it's pretty smart to go ahead and end the practice short due to lightning in the area. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
When I first read the thread title I thought shines as in moonshine. But glad to hear that Blakes off-season work is paying off. Hopefully we keep hearing this throughout camp
Noticed picture of training camp

According to the T-U, Bortles was 12-14 in 11 on 11 snaps for the day.

I was wondering why other sports sites were saying he was up and down.
This is a good reason to be optimistic.

Gabbert's best game isn't anywhere near as good as Brunell's, Leftwich's, Gerrard's, or Bortles' worst game. Gabbert had pocket presence issues - Bortles doesn't. The point? In practice, you KNOW you aren't going to get smashed by a defensive lineman. When the fire is live, you EXPECT to get smashed by a defensive lineman. Gabbert showed way too much fear on the field. Bortles doesn't have enough fear. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Even John Oesher called Bortles "OK" today, not good or great. He is who he is. He's going to be very inconsistent.

Some of us still recall Mark Brunell in the early days of training camp and often in the first preseason game. He almost always seemed to start out really rusty and inaccurate almost giving us cause for concern, only we knew better because Brunell was always ready to go by week one. Bortles being 12 of 14 in the first camp is a great sign.
That said, I was watching some clips on his deeper passes, and while encouraging, the wobble remains. That consistant wobble on his deep passes distinguishes him from any other qb.

The number 1 thing on every Fan's wish list should be Bortles to consistently play well. He starts off solid and earns praise......yet those bcc guys know better...
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
