QB: Bortles, Henne, Allen
RB: Fournette, Ivory, Yeldon, Grant
FB: Bohanon (Williams to IR or PS)
TE: Lewis, Rivera, Koyack, Sterling
WR: Robnson, Lee, Hurns, Westbrook, Benn, Etta-Tawo
OL: Robinson, Omameh,Linder, Cann, Parnell, Shatley, Bowanko, Watford (Gennesy, Collins on PS)
DL: Campbell, Jackson, Ngakoue, Fowler, Jones, Smoot, Day, Bennett, McCray
LB: Smith, Poz, Jack, Brown, Cole, McNary
CB: Ramsey, Bouye, Colvin, Johnson, Myrick
S: Gipson, Church, Thompson, Wilson
ST: Nortman, Myers, Tink

The DL names could change if they really want to have a true NT backing up Jones. Maybe put Stefan Charles in place of Bennett.

Etta-Tawo over Cole and Wynn? I haven't heard his name mentioned all training camp. I know Special Teams ability will play a big factor in determining the final few cuts, does he offer any ST value?

This looks very accurate to me. It wouldn't surprise me if they pick up a veteran offensive lineman who gets cut prior to the 1st regular season game against Houston. I do hope they keep Grant due to his speed and return ability. If I were Caldwell, I'd also wait for a team that loses 1 or 2 backs due to injury and try to sucker them into a trade for Yeldon. I know he's not worth a ton, but a team desperate enough may give up a 5th rounder or an offensive lineman if they are deep at that position.

One more RB injury in Pittsburgh and they may be desperate enough to want to add Yeldon, assuming Bell's hold out lingers longer than expected. Since we've already traded with them in the past (Scobee) we can also assume that the front office relationship is already established.

Yeah. After Westbrook that WR depth chart is anyone's guess really.

There's a lot of camp left and plenty of preseason game snaps for Wynn, Walker,  Cole, J. Robinson, Benn, Pinkard, Greene, and Etta-Tawo to separate themselves.  I'm not buying any early hype just yet.

I agree. I think that final WR spot is going to present an interesting battle for sure.

Greene will atleast be our 6th WR. He offers KR and PR.

It's very possible, but he'll still have to beat out Westbrook for the PR job.
Lee and Corey Grant seem to be the top candidates at KR currently.

These are all pretty good, but keep an eye on Poutasi at RT. I suspect he's working his way onto the roster.

Agreed. From my predicted list -- I'd say Watford may be the  most likely guy Poutasi replaces on that 53.  Especially if Poutasi shows any ability to play RG in a pinch.

Battle between Sample and Wilson for the backup spot behind Church will be real interesting. We have essentially seen nothing out of Sample just yet, and Wilson was solid enough last year and could show some real improvement.

Agreed. If I had to pick, I'd lean toward picking Wilson.

I can see it coming down to Shatley vs Watford for the last spot.

Wonder if the team carries four TE's along with a FB? Especially with Rivera's versatility. Could be a battle between Koyack and Sterling.

Looking over this a little closer...

  • At QB, I'm truly hoping Allen secures the backup spot making Henne expendable, and for that matter, gone, even if that means only two QBs which is possible since they haven't brought in any more.
  • At WR, I'm now thinking Cole beats out Etta-Tawo for that last spot, but this is still wide open. I have my eye on Shane Wynn as well for this spot since he's showing up in the return game.
  • At FB, I still think Williams beats out Bohanon unless the rookie ends up on IR.
  • On the OL as discussed above, I'd replace Shatley with Poutasi, but I reserve the right to change my mind.
  • On  the DL, I agree with your final comment that Charles should replace Bennett.
  • At LB, I agree with the prediciton, although the McNary vs Pullard battle should be a good one.
  • At CB, I'd like to be able to add one more... perhaps Grant or Dixon... to take the last spot with Henne gone.

Did you see his route today against Charles Gaines? If not please look it up. Keenan would've been proud.

Greene isn't good and fumbles way to much so I doubt it
