Bortles benched at practice for Henne after 2 pick 6's?

How can a guy with the name FUFATBOY not already be banned for skirting filters? That and the fact he's been here 2 days and he's constant whining is already more annoying than anyone here.

I wonder which previously banned member he was.

I get that people are frustrated with Bortles, but thinking that Henne who has shown people previously what he's capable of and a third stringer who didn't look very accurate last Thursday is a better option is laughable. If you want to take out your frustration, take it out on Coughlin and Co for not bringing anyone else in to compete.

He expressed himself passionately and yielded an engaging thread with a high volume of participants. Send him to the gallows

There's nothing wrong with having passion and starting a discussion, but there's only so often you can repeat yourself over and over, right?  We get it, you dislike Bortles and you think Henne is better.  You stating that opinion 7 times on one page in a chat thread is a bit of overkill.

I on the other hand am not sure that what is behind Bortles is any better than Bortles.  In fact, if they had as much exposure as Bortles does their flaws would be just as noticeable if not more.  We've all seen games where a defense loads the box because we can't pass the ball.  My guess with Henne is we wouldn't be able to throw it downfield.  It would be all short checks like the past.  At least with Bortles we know he has the arm to get it down the field, our only worry is his decision making.

My guess this is his last year with us.  I think it will be a sad final year giving all the promise he showed early on.  He provided quite a bit of excitement early on.

...  But Jameis Winston led his team to a 9-7 record in his 2nd year, ahead of division mates Drew almighty Brees and Cam superman Newton.  They barely missed the playoffs, following a 6-10 rookie campaign. That's 15 wins in 2 years. Blake Bortles team is 3-13, 5-11, 3-13 in his 3 year tenure. Do the math.

Since you mentioned simplistic deflection. Let's actually consider that "math."

I've been one of the more outspoken posters regarding Bortles' flaws rather consistently.  But just throwing out a W/L record and attributing it to an individual player is some seriously weak sauce, my friend. You can do better.

How many of those 37 Jag losses do you realistically rest solely at the feet of #5?   Six losses? 7? 12?   I'm curious.
Because I distinctly remember a remarkable amount of suck-age from the team as a whole as they suffered through the tutelage of one if the worst HCs the league has ever seen.

Blake has done plenty of damage to this team's record -- but just throwing up a W/L comparison with Tampa doesn't tell the whole story.

I am with ya, UCF, and agree fufatboy may be too zealous, but there's tons of low level responses to contend with as well.

To the QBs, I have no interest in Henne starting and truly hope Blake manages things aptly to help the franchise rise from the bottom barrel. It stinks in the basement. Indeed, the promise and excitement he brought to the passing game was needed after years of makeshift QB play. I thought wow, we have our guy at last. But things started to fall apart. There's time, there's hope, you don't have to carry the squad. Be measured, play smartly, and just dang win baby.

I am not comparing the two, or desire to do so. I reacted to thingy bringing Jameis Winston into this. And again, bottom line, wins are attributed to QBs. Tampa has done more of that under Winston than Jags under Blake, precisely why one is considered on the rise, while the other is the brunt of jokes leaguewide. Will not change until wins occur. Simple.

The fact that this is even a conversation tells you everything you need to know about Bortles.

If you are not head and shoulders above Henne, then you are trash. There is no middleground.

Simple?  Yes.

Lazy? Yes.

Misleading? Yes.

Sure people attribute wins to QBs. That doesn't mean it's not often completely ridiculous. Many victories are achieved by various distinct elements of the team more so than they are by a QB.  It happens quite often. Ignoring the performance of 21 other guys and a coaching staff (and ST)  to prop up or bash a QB is pretty freaking lame.

Blake didn't lose 37 games by himself, my man.

NYC, wins and losses are assigned to QBs and Head Coaches by the league itself, in spite of the manner in which they are achieved.

This is not my opinion, nor do I at all fault Blake for the losses. Not remotely the case.

One says, QB Duval Jagly went 7-9 last year, or Coach NYC 4 Jag was 21-34 in his tenure, yielding a win percentage of ... No other members of the team are quantified as such.

That was my stance on Mva's musing on why both QBs are perceived differently. The masses do not dissect technicalities, they go by tangible results in spite of the technicalities.

10-4, BritJag.  As usual we are largely on the same page. I see your intent more clearly now.

I've been saying this same thing. The fact that were talking about benching Bortles tells you all you need to know.

I wonder if Tom Brady gets benched in practice.

Not sure how we can realistically be compared to any team with an even or winning record. We havent had a run game since MJD left. Every team who finished 8-8 or better had a 1k rusher or darn close and we haven't had one since before MJD. We've had no run game and have been one dimension for years, and unfortunately that has pretty much put any qb we've thrown out there to the wolves. The fact that BB has even had some success is impressive since the QBs before him havent had anything close to his numbers.
