He's absolute trash. Makes me question this front office for not bringing in real competition. We will be lucky to win 4 games with Blake.

*Quarterback Blake Bortles did not work with the first-team offense for much of practice, but Marrone said it was a rest day.

“Actually, we were looking at the pitch count after yesterday and we went in and said, ‘Let’s just rest him,’” Marrone said.

Bortles threw two early practice interceptions toady, but Marrone said “absolutely not,” when asked if that was the reason Bortles was shut down.

Good try troll.

2 pick sixes than a rest day. How convenient. Coach speak, imo. Even 1010xl dude be saying the same thing.

So Blake Bortles throws two pick 6s early in practice today and then was sat down. Marrone says "pitch count." Anyone really believe that?

No where in the article does it say pick sixes.

Bortles is not entitled to the treatment other starting QBs get. He has too much to prove. The preseason should be treated as if it were the regular season for BB5 when it comes to play time and reps.

They were pick sixes. Both on passes intended for Greene. Which to me shows a lack of communication between those 2. I really doubt they'd bench him after 2 when they didn't bench him the night he threw 5

They were giving the CB's a break from Bortles. Returning TD's is exhausting.

Meh... it's just practice.

Were picks because of bad QB play?

Were picks because of bad WR play?

Were picks because of good DB play?

It's just practice.

I'm not concerned. I don't expect much from this year anyway and there is almost 100% chance we'll be drafting a QB in 2018. This changes nothing.

Bortles might not make it thru the first game as starter.

From Mike Kaye on Bortles INTs (would have been 3 but DB coach told the DB to break the pass due to field position):

Bortles' previously mentioned interceptions were produced during separate sessions. Bortles was first picked off by Posluszny, who returned the interception for a touchdown during 11-on-11 drills. A few minutes later, Bortles was intercepted by cornerback Tyler Patmon for a "pick six." It was Patmon's fourth interception of Bortles during training camp.

Bortles also had an overthrow, which would have been a pick at the opposing two-yard line by cornerback Charles Gaines, but defensive backs coach Perry Fewell screamed for him to break it up instead due to field position.

Indeed

Plus it's not as if what one practices carries over to games

And he doesn't have a history of this...

Are we really expecting much out of Bortles, or this team itself this season? Bring on 2018

*Linebacker Myles Jack, the first-team middle backer for the off-season and camp, was playing strong-side in base defense and Paul Posluszny moved over to the middle.

“I’m trying to find out the best three,” Marrone said. “We have Blair [Brown] playing some sam, Lerentee [McCray] is playing sam. I just want to make sure for our base downs, we’ve got the best three players out there.”

Asked if today’s practice move was an indictment on Jack’s progress at middle linebacker, Marrone said: “No, I wouldn’t say that.”

Why single out Bortles for bad play? Why no mention of this?

Eh, better to see mistakes in practice than on gameday. If we start seeing them occur with frequency on gameday, then we'll know that it'll be a QB for us in the 1st or 2nd next year. (probably should take one in the 2nd or 3rd in any case, unless Bortles gets us to the playoffs)
