A friend in Tampa posted a Wawa charging $8.81 a gallon and water for $24.

Both of which are price gouging which is illegal.

Here in SW VA gas is up to like $2.50 since Harvey, was $1.95ish a couple weeks ago. Work pays for my gas so I rarely look at the price these days lol

This is video from inside Irma's eyewall. About 25 seconds in is when you begin to see the power of this thing. Right around the one minute mark is where I'm wondering how the heck they're still flying that plane. The pilots and crew have been in my prayers. That is certainly a high risk job they have. 

And yeah, that thing needs to stay away from NC. Matthew was bad enough and it was only a Cat 3. We were approximately 200 miles from the eyewall when we started getting hammered and it didn't help we were on the business end of the rotation. We were already waterlogged from the tropical storm that had through a week or so before which didn't help matters at all. We've not had much rain this summer until recently, but the rivers and creeks here will flood like they did last year and create some serious problems. Not looking forward to what may be coming. 

I really wish my husband would agree to buying a generator.    It would be helpful for more than hurricane season since we lose power due to snow and ice storms.

I feel like I'd be far enough inland if it hits around NC/SC (I'm roughly 250 miles from Myrtle Beach or Jacksonville NC) but the storm itself is 400 [BLEEP] miles wide. The ONLY good thing that could come of that is I work sales in the building supply industry and we'd be crazy busy. 

Still a lot of uncertainty where Irma is headed. But it's very likely to hit the US somewhere now. 

We have a small little generator, nothing crazy, but enough to power a fridge/deep freezer for a while.

And someone said something about dropping ice cubes in the storm... that would be the opposite of what the government would want to do.
