I posted a link that lists all viewing options including AOL. I actually don't have it anymore and get news through AOL Mail. So whatever they say it is still Yahoo.com for me.

This is a smart move for th NFL and in particular Khan. The Cowboys and Steelers may be a major brand in America but in a few years, the Jaguars will be the biggest football brand in the world.

Think about Jalen Ramsey. He is a Jordan Brand athlete. I’m sure Jordan brand is excited to have a player playing in London every year and having a prime time game (in other parts of the world) being streamed. Fournette is about to be a global star after a few years. This is why players are starting to want to come here. We have something no other NFL team currently has, major global visibility. Their agents know it and we are slowly seeing the benefit of it.

Marvelous post. Very interesting points to think about.

The main reason is so NFL can test/create market demand for the product before the directv contract runs out. When the contract ends in 2020something they will do what every sporting league in this country has already done, and sell their product directly to the consumer.  Like you said the old television model is dying, younger people (though people in general) do not watch traditional television.

Like I said there are still millions of people who watch TV and that will never change.

My TV is much bigger than my phone. When given the choice I will always choose the bigger screen to view shows. I might view a youtube video every now and then on my phone, but that is it. Phones are designed to make calls, TVs are designed to view programs. Until they implant the phone in your eye so it appears bigger than my TV screen I will use the TV for watching tv shows and movies.

I wouldn't want to watch NFL games on my phone either. But I use the TV as a computer monitor. Any streaming video is displayed with the same resolution and size as it is with network TV.

That is not an option for people who only use desktop computers, which will always be my preference.

I'm not even saying they dont watch it on television, I'm purely talking about the traditional way of watching television where you need cable, satellite or even a broadcasting antenna.  Those numbers are in fact shrinking not growing, as opposed to the number of people who purely use their televisions as a monitor for streaming content.

Sure it is. My computer is a desktop computer. I have a remote keyboard and mouse (about $25 for the Logitech package) with the computer box hardwired to the TV.

I think it would be much harder to link a laptop since the monitor, keyboard and touchpad are all built-in.

Hmm, flash only. Who uses flash anymore. An old technology. If they are going to stream they should use a current technology like html5.

My Yahoo feed over the Roku TV was pretty bad. The audio never synced up with the video and was always a couple of plays ahead. The video just cut out on many occasions.

The Bloody Marys were good though.

Not sure what Roku is, but I just hooked a laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable and went to the stream site via Chrome. When I first brought it up, the audio was just as you said. I hit refresh and it was good from then on. Never lost the feed, but it went down to standard definition a few times. Most annoying was not being able to pause it. Didn't realize how much I enjoy that feature of a DVR.

I had to use the Low setting on the player (which I knew I would), but it must have been around 480ishp quality. I've definitely had to deal with way worse quality in streams than that before.

Other than that, I never lost connection and never got any buffers. Audio was just fine for me and I was pleased about not having to deal with any buffers.

edit: I'm not sure what Roku is either, I just used the stream right from the yahoo page.

I had to use a link on this thread because the NFL.com video was hanging, but had no problem with the picture. Sound was good too without headphones but I could not make it work with them to increase the volume.
