Someone asked for statistics, so that is what I posted. Is something wrong with that?

This. Bortles is looking like Harvey Dent this year. He's either really good or really bad. Let's see some consistency before we start eating crow.

That said, yeah, it does kind of look like the benching for Henne in the preseason lit a fire under his [BLEEP]. The fact that the offensive line has somehow managed to be pretty good thus far, despite looking like a bunch of wet paper bags in the preseason, is extremely helpful.

I hope that what we saw today can set a trend and we're seeing Bortles finally coming around; but keep in mind that it was just one good game. We need to see some more of this kind of positive play before we can begin to think about forgetting about the years of sub par performance.

Good job today Blake.

and good job to the giraffe; he still runs like a new born giraffe but at least today he hung onto the ball.

The Bortles that shows up next week probably will be the same guy we saw this morning. He is 6-5, right handed, wears #5, has brown hair . . .

Just kidding, I know what you mean. Bortles showed us today he can have a great day against what people think is a good defense. Is Baltimore's defense overrated or Jacksonville's offense underrated? We will find out next week.

Anybody else think it was funny on his run where he basically told the ref where the spot was and put it there himself, but the ref moved it behind the line, but then the other ref put it exactly back where Blake said it was. Is there a gif of this?

And we got a first down from the favorable measure.

The co-presenter was so reluctant to give any praise to BB5.. suggesting it was the Ravens' D capitulating that resulted in Blake having a good game. I like that, I'm ok with the bad press, if we fly under the radar and keep progressing, that's ok with me.

Come to think of it, BklynJag you don't present co-present a digital radio show in the UK in a British accent, do you? Just a thought..

I didn't know this about TalkSport 2 on Sunday's. Thank you!

Under Marrone, he's had one bad game - last week. But you could argue that he wasn't hot against the Texans. I think the drive he lead in the third quarter - right after Houston scored, was key though.

Nah.... ain't time to eat crow on Bortles...

He's had games like this before.
The bigger story here isn't Bortles playing well it's how good our defense can be as long as the offense doesn't put them in bad spots.

If Bortles can string together 6-7 games like yesterday... or God forbid, bring us back from a deficit... We can start serving up some crow...

I'm not saying you're wrong, but Bortles has actually been pretty consistent under Marrone. People here are just super ready to jump on him after a game against the titans where one horrible snap in pass protection and one batted pass made his day look especially bad.

I think the biggest problem early in the season was too much desire to go run run pass. The attack against the Ravens was much more balanced and clearly they were totally caught off guard by Lewis's ability to do anything at all, much less do a pretty good impression of ARob in the red zone.

I expect in the rematch with the titans there will be more play action passing against run stopping fronts and less running into the teeth of the defense.

Not saying the Jaguars are a playoff team with Bortles, but they look like they could be.

I was a longtime Bortles "apologist" he kinda lost me this season although I've always said if he can string together the good and limit the bad to just a few a season this team could win with him as QB.
However we've seen in recent years that you gotta have a QB to go deep. Otherwise, we're the tinhorns.
CAN he be THAT guy? Sure... like I said, he's had games like this before. Unfortunately, they are usually sammiched between a couple mediocre or bad games.

If everything else is clicking, we can win with Bortles. I don't put the whole tacks game on Bortles at all but he certainly didn't help..
He has yet to show he can be the guy that truly takes over a game.
And until that happens, I don't think any naysayer should be forced to eat crow.

I will say, though, that he's been more consistent in a good way than Mariota so far this season, and the titans fans think he's great even though he's shown no capacity to carry the titans, either.

His play yesterday was like that struggling player in almost every sports movie. The coach said stop thinking so much and go have fun. Then he went out and just had fun.

It is not time for serving crow for sure. Bortle's has been up and down his whole career. He has one of these amazing games and then some like week 2. If he even plays half as good as yesterday the rest of the season we can win the division for sure.
No Fun

3 games in he's playing the best of any qb in the division. I'll take that. He's finally getting decent oline and D play

One of my favorite moments in the game.  You have to influence officials, get calls in your favor. A show of leadership and moxy by the QB, and he was right. An athletic determined run to reach beyond the marker as he got out of bounds.
Success is a journey, not a destination.  Go all out Mighty Jaguars.

Actually I believe Blake is left handed and just throws right handed.
