That's the play where Fournette said "come on"
Watch Fournette very close....
Why are people hung up on which NFL players were faster than Leonard Fournette when he was in college? If you want to compare his speed to that of other RBs you can only use a five-week sample for all of them. Next Gen Stats did, and only Fournette ran 22 mph in that time frame.

It's obviously an argument based on long term preservation, not to try to call it as a victory for one side or another after a month. If, and more likely when, Fournette is hobbled and banged up (if not worse) in week 14 in the heat of the division/playoff race we might wish we had curtailed his carries a bit when we were ahead by 2+ scores late in some of these games.

Chris Ivory has been splitting carries with Leonard Fournette. Even the coaches don't know how long that will last. Not all RBs get hurt every year. It's just a possibility, not a probability, at this point. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Besides, Fournette didn't look even slightly tired even after that 90 yard TD. Teammates loved this "crazy" move by Fournette:

Lots of guys will end up on the hood on national TV trying that, its a risk. He didn't take him straight on but hit him hard at the perfect angle, good play. Fournette probably would have patted him on the helmet and acknowledged it too if he hadn't got all hyped up. Even though Fournette fell for a few more yards that's about the best you can do there. He was probably stoked he won't end up another limp body on Leonard's career highlight reel. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
