I might have to use this soon if we keep winning

I'm not like a lot of you guys who live in the city....I have always been an out of market fan since they came in the league. I've never lived in Jacksonville or anywhere close...only lived in states that are much further away. I simply picked them when I was about 8 years old because I liked their logo.

So if we keep winning, I need pictures like this one to prove I've been a fan since the beginning, lol. In case people start calling us "bandwagon fans".

Sidenote, can anyone help me figure out who's jersey I am wearing? It looks like a #95 or maybe a #99 but I can't figure out who it would have been? If it's a #99 maybe it's Marcus Stroud? I have no idea how old I was or what year this was either...

No it was a Jersey number celebrating the first year the team played a game. That was an original jersey. You sure weren't celebrating Mike Thompson #95 from that first team.

That’s Bryce Paup. The color combo on the sleeves, I think, was from that era.

Yeah the inaugural year jersey had the leaping cat I believe. I can look when I get home, I've got one in black.

He's one of the guys that got Coughlin fired initially.

This is so weird, thank you everyone. Why on earth would I have had his jersey? I barely even remember him or know who he is? So there isn't a chance it's a #99 and be Stroud?

EDIT: So I just brought the picture up to my mom (which I should have done in the first place) and she said the picture was taken in December 1998...which doesn't make sense if you guys are saying it's a 1999 jersey though? If it was 1998, I would have been 11 years old.

The leaping cat was dropped before play began after Jaguar Cars threatened to sue. There was a prowling cat used on the shoulders for a while but I don't think that was in the inaugural year though.

Brice joined the Jags in 98' and that Jersey color and design existed from 95-2008 I believe. Sometime in the mid 2000's, it became an alternate before fading away completely. It definitely isn't a 99 Stroud as the second number has a sharp edge/corner that the jersey "9" of the period didn't have.

Edit: Actually those that said it's an inaugural jersey are correct. Couple of them for sale on eBay!

So I'm confused...you are saying then that the picture could have been taken in December 1998? Meaning it is a #95 jersey and it's Bryce Paup or literally no one's jersey? So it's an "inaugural jersey"? Can someone explain to me what that exactly means, sorry for the stupid question. Because our first season was 1995 so why would a jersey from 1998 be "inaugural" still?

Thanks for all the help!!

The jersey is from 1995 which is why it's #95.  He's wearing it in 1998 so the jersey was about 3 years old when the picture was taken.

Nice detective work, folks.

Thank you guys for the help, that really means a lot! So the jersey didn't belong to any player specifically? Did it just say "Jaguars" on the back or was blank entirely?
