I think she found a very willing partner, thought it would be great to do, uh, you know, with the President of the United States, and now she's sorry she did it, and she wants to act the victim. QFT I've heard similar stories from family members and female co-workers. Too often they are expected to shrug it off, but they shouldn't have to.

The author of that article just put in info about Clinton getting accused of harassment, not that Lewinsky is claiming it was him. Here’s an example of an inappropriate comment. When I was young, my girlfriends and I went to the mall. I wasn’t even old enough to drive yet, our parents dropped us off, so I’m assuming I was around 14, maybe 15. We were minding our own business and trying on clothes, nothing remotely provocative. There is a grown man in the store shopping with what I assume were his daughters. This normal looking guy decided to come up to my 15ish year old self and tell me I had great boobs (not his word choice) for my age and how he’d love to get a feel of them. I’m thinking that’s a little more inappropriate than just Hello, don’t ya think?

Notice I used Sexual Harassment, sexual assault is in a whole other category. The fact he would be so brazen makes me wonder if his daughters were safe. My sister was bosomy at an early age. She said it was difficult to deal with until she had matured mentally and emotionally, then she loved them. Of course this applies to girls with a sense of modesty and decency. There’s others who aren’t so decorous. Regardless, it’s not something that guys can fully understand. I was the first one in my group that got them and the attention they brought was mortifying at times! It took a few years for the mind to catch up with the body.

I imagine that Monica Lewinsky's relationship with Clinton was consensual, but I'm not surprised that the benefit of the doubt isn't afforded to others. This movement could be used for a lot of good. It just seems like a large man-bashing witch hunt at the moment, however.

I think it's a legitimate issue, and I don't see it as a man-bashing witch hunt. The problem is, people who have power over others abuse their power. That's a given. Power corrupts. I just thought Monica Lewinsky joining the #metoo thing was funny. Because I always had the impression she targeted Clinton and was just having a good time. Two willing participants. I'm sure she deeply regrets it now, because it's probably ruined her life. |
