After McNair's comments, maybe the players will quit on the team and increase our chances of winning the division!

I kind of understand what he was trying to say but yeesh. A more tone-deaf owner we'll probably never see.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Yeah, just Google "Inmates running the prison", it returns results for "Inmates running the asylum", the correct phrase.

Well done. Just I was getting a little concerned bout the Texans, their owner craps on his own franchise in a way I couldn't have imagined possible. I too understand what he was saying. But I think he would struggle to find a more inappropriate idiom.

Bad choice of words or not it speaks to the owners attitude (some of them) towards the players.

Apparently Texans players considered leaving today and Hopkins didn't even show up to practice due to the remarks.

Only difference is inmates don't get paid millions, they get cigarettes and shanks.

Your point?

Incorrect or not, it’s absolutely stupid to get offended.

NFL players are the labor component of that which provides our amusement. They are trivial at best and hardly qualifiied to tell billionaires how to run their businesses. Just like Hollywood actors they should shut up, play their games, and thank deity they are lucky enough to live in a time when their meager skills can draw such great rewards.

From your perspective, I guess.

Are you defending McNair?

Is this your attitude when insulted by the CEO of your company, and would it change if you had a voice anyone cared to hear?

Takes more skill and work to be a football player than most jobs.  It's a highly specialised job.

Theres an odd sentiment that NFL players didn't have to work like hell to get where they are and that it's an easy job. 90% of the population aren't even physically able to play the game let alone have the necessary work ethic to get in the league and maintain

He made a mistake. So just move on. As he apologized over it. Heard a lot more worse.

It's an unfortunate foot in the mouth. He went for a common colloquialism and plugged in the wrong word. Maybe Freudian, probably just a mistake made during a heated conversation. I think we all have better things to be outraged over.

He apologized but also said he wasn’t talking about the players. So why did he apologize?

So Bob McNair sided with the fans and the players walked out. Shad Khan sided with the players and the fans walked out. I think Shad Khan's move is better, if winning is your focus.

Yes because being offended doesn't make it racist.

For 450k a year he can call me anything he wants. Of course, unlike these players, I don't feel entitled to anything more than my salary.
