Keenum?

#1

If they Vikings do not keep Keenum ( he is a free agent next year) will the Jags have a legit shot at him?

Man, if we just had a QB we could rely on; a consistent, above average QB, the Jags would be a real force to contend with.

If Minnesota advances to the Superbowl with Keenum, they'd be crazy not to keep him. The Vikings/Saints game is gonna be a great one. However, the Vikings should be a favorite to win the NFC.

He was awful in Houston/LA. But he's been terrific this season in Minny (it shocked me,, I didn't even realize how good he's been until later in the season).

I know they have Bridgewater. But if Case leads them all the way and continues looking good, they should keep him as the starter for sure.

I would be ok with Bradford

Thanks for nothing admins, moving it to the league? More like bush league admins. Reading comprehension is not your strong point is it?

I don't want Bridgewater, I would hope the JAGUARS would go after someone like Keenum or even Bradford. Both would be an improvement over Bortles.

Are we going to start new threads for every name we recognize? Can we finish the season first?

It has nothing to do with the Jags other than your musings.  If it comes out later that the Jags are pursuing him, then it’s relevant.  Until that happens, it lands in the general forum for the NFL.

Really? How many freaking threads have I started in the 12 plus years I have posted on this forum? Maybe 3 a year? Gimme a break, it was a legitimate question.

well, it does not belong there... it belongs where I put it, regardless of what you say. Just because YOU don't appreciate it, doesn't mean other people won't.

I guess I should defer to you on the board rules. What do I know?

It belongs where it is. I didn’t move it, but it was the correct action. You’re more than welcome to start any thread you want. Don’t get all thin skinned when someone says it’s premature.

If you did defer to me, it would be done fairly at least. Whatever, we all know the admins have your creepy little clique.. whatever makes you all feel special I guess...

Keenum doesn't play for the Jags - So it doesn't belong in the Jags forum.
He doesn't play for a team in the AFCS  - so it doesn't go there.
He plays for a team in "the league" and that's the correct forum for the thread.
There are hundreds of threads exactly like this one that were  originally started in the wrong forum and moved to the proper one.  It happens a dozen times a day. It's nothing new.  I've had threads moved too.  It's not a big deal.
It's not bush league. It's one of the most clear, simple, cut and dry tasks performed daily by mods and admins here.
I moved it in case you were curious.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Keenum would likely be an upgrade in Jax, and I would be all for it at the right price. I'd prefer it to be a "mid-tier" QB contract and nothing blockbuster in figures.

I brought up Keenum a few times over the course of the season as a potential acquisition and was largely dismissed by posters here.

His playoff performances certainly may make Minnesota pay big to keep him in the long run.

Here's another Keenum thread in the league forum:
https://www.duvalpride.com/showthread.php?tid=25763

I'd typically merge them but much has transpired with Keenum since then and i get the feeling you'd somehow feel slighted.

I'm gonna take a hard pass on Keenum. I think he had a career year, but I see him dropping like a rock in the 2018 season.

Swing and a miss.

The admins do a good job of directing traffic on the board. You don’t like it.  Not our problem.

BTW, pass on Keemun if he’s available. There will be better options.

I don't know if he would drop like a rock, but I wouldn't pay him franchise money to find out.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Also, the rules on posts have been how they are forever. No one is picking on anyone. Seriously I have been here 8 years and while I didn't like how some of the mods were in Gene we Trust years, they did a great job overall and people give them way too much slack about moving threads.

And those same 'terrible' mods are the main reason we have this board. You wouldnt even have a thread to complain about without them. Come on, show a little gratitude.

Would love Keenum. I liked him coming out of college and was one of the best college QBs of all time and he is now showing why. Short, small school, and not the strongest arm is the reasons he wasnt drafted. His arm isnt as weak as Teddy's though and he has all the tools to be a franchise QB. I think he would be a perfect fit here and if we dont get Brees, Cousins, or trade for Alex Smith then he is first on the list for me.

I don't think Keenum leaves Minnesota. He's not a particularly stellar QB, but he's a perfect fit for that team, and it shows. I think the real questions looking at possible free agents from that group are whether you think Teddy Bridgewater is recovered and better than Bortles, or if you think Sam Bradford is capable of finishing a season without spending half of it on IR.

I am not sold on Smith, I like Bradford, but Keenum, that dude is on right now, and out all of the FA QBs that will be available, I prefer him.

On quarterbacks that should be available I'd take 1.Cousins 2. Smith 3. Bradford. After that I think I'd rather roll with Bottles on his option and draft a QB in the first.

And OP, why do you care so much what forum it's in? Getting fired up over something so trivial is no good for your health. From the looks of your profile pic, you're in your 50's. Try and keep that blood pressure down my man. Also, it was moved to the correct forum.

Because, I ain't some rookie on this board. I have been here a long time. I rarely post threads and while I can be a jerk at times, I try and follow the rules; and get it why they want to keep the subjects correct. I, before posting it considered putting it somewhere else, but it was a question about the Jaguars and at the same time conveying my distrust iin Bortles. Anyway, according to my emotional intelligence score, I am perfectly normal with most things, except when my authority or dominance is challenged. So if you remember this simple rule, all will be good..

RONSTER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, THOU SHALT NOT QUESTION RONSTER's DECISIONS, EVER!!!

Don't start nuthin, there won't be nuthin.

lol

Go Jags!!! Please Bortles, be the good Bortles today. YOU CAN DO IT!!
