You could probably chalk that up to hitting the rookie wall.  Guy had gone full tilt for almost a year between bowl games, combine, pro days, draft, walkthroughs, mini camp, preseason, and regular season.

I love Connor Williams and have him as a top 3 overall player in this draft, but with our huge need at QB as well as Cam Robinson being a rookie, I just don't see OT as being a priority. That would be more of a luxury. Hopefully, in a year or two, we can start making luxury picks, but right now, that just isn't feasible. If we don't get one of the top QB's in this draft, I see us in the same exact position next season and our opportunity window is only gonna be open for a short period of time.

If the first round plays out this way, the Jags would have some nice options with their first round pick. In no particular order, they would be:

1. Stay put and take the top rated tight end on their board. This would be the 1st tight end taken in the draft. Andrews would be the favorite as of now.
2. Take the top rated offensive lineman. If they love Brown, he could be the pick. I disagree about moving Robinson and will defer to Boselli who says Robinson can eventually be a pro-bowl left tackle.Still wouldn't hurt to have
better depth at tackle. Another option would be Hernandez, who'd immediately start at guard and upgrade the run-blocking significantly. Might be a little early for him, however.
3. Mason Rudolph or trade up a few spots and take Mayfield. Depends on how Blake plays Sunday. If he implodes, this is a good possibility unless they trade for Alex Smith. It's not totally crazy to believe he will play very well against
the Steelers and the Jaguars allow him to play out his option year before making a long-term commitment or cutting him.

Regardless of which direction they go, they should be able to upgrade a roster which won 10 regular season games and at least 1 playoff game.

I'm all for trading up and taking Mayfield or staying put and taking Rudolph. Either is a great scenario, but passing on both in the draft, would be totally unacceptable.

While I agree with the first sentence, I think if there's a future RT to be had (Parnell's no spring chicken) and that future RT could slide in and upgrade Cann in the meantime...  maybe it makes sense. 
It just makes more sense to do it in a subsequent round.

I wouldn't be completely opposed to drafting an OL guy in round 1. But at the bottom of round 1 I bet we could get a mean OG.
Although, not sure round 1 won't be a QB.

After next season, there's a real possibility that two of the following three are not on the team: Jackson, Campbell, and Dareus.

If that happens, the window of opportunity for this team would already start to shut. We need to keep these key players together for at least 3 more years. I'm looking for an adjustment period for a rookie QB in 2018, a strong improvement by that rookie QB in 2019 and a Superbowl in 2020. We need to keep our core players on defense during this period.

If Rosen, Mayfield and Rudolph are gone by our pick (God forbid), I'd try to trade down a few spots, add a pick in 2019 and use our first selection to take the best available OG. I'd rather take one of the QB's I mentioned in round 1 though and take the best available OG in round 2 (depending on who's left on the board) and the best available TE in round 3, (depending on who's left on the board.)
