Has anyone mentioned that we'll need a backup method of getting the plays in to Bortles in the event that our communication system mysteriously "malfunctions" ?  That's been a reoccurring problem for us in New England, mysteriously.

Why? Because they are not Bill Belichick, but they try to act like him when they move on. Big mistake. The only thing that does is alienate fans & media alike. Doesn't work unless they win...a lot.

That hasn't worked for them, and it didn't work for BB in Cleveland either. It was only after he was given the chance to prove his system worked that he was given the power he has had since 2001.

Weak tree? Starting in the 2018 season he'll have three former coaches as HC's (O'Brian, McDaniels, Patricia), and a lot of the GM's in the league learned under BB - Dimitroff & Pioli in Atlanta, Robinson in Tennesee, Quinn in Detroit. I believe there are a couple more.

True and thats what I like about them cause we don't need it. We aren't the Steelers, we own the Steelers. 
Each season we won a SB, we didn't really have a tall, big strong receiver. Like you said, methodically, long, sustained drives is what he's best at. Totally agreed.

Yep go study the miami tape. Lol see how that works for you. And the pata defense is much improved. In the moat important area they went from 32nd to 5th in 12 games. 
 They also allowed 3 rushing touchdowns over the last 13 games.

Yoh obviously haven't watched us much. Yes you have the best QB of all time and we need to be perfect to win but we have a front 4 that will being pressure and collapse the pocket all day. I doubt you know Ngakoue, you will Sunday.

The Pats will hit us with screens and Gronk over the middle. We have Telvin Smith, again probably not heard of him, the guy is immense at the screen and quick as hell and Myles Jack, who's basically the same. I think we'll play a lot of nickle to avoid Poz in pass coverage so well have Colvin and Bouye. They match up really well against Cooks and Hogan, you don't have a Antonio Brown. And them we have Ramsey, think he'll shy away from Gronk, he has the length, speed and attitude to take on Gronk, he'll probably get a Gronk arm to the back of the head!

I also like how he's 7-0 against this unit, oh how Id love to see those Boston faces if we did it.

How's he against Coughlin again?

Lots of things floating around in this thread. Just a few I wanted to address.

1. The whole cheating thing. Yeah there’s been some “smoke” but when it comes down it to it, Brady and Belichick have had a run that merits respect. I don’t imagine theyeve succeeded only because of “cheating” and that’s playing devils advocate and assuming that the “smoke” is true. So I see no need to harp on that.

2. Brady can throw the deep ball if he has a threat, but I feel his bread and butter is the precise throws in the underneath and intermediate areas. That is what this defense will have to guard against. Especially with Gronkowski. As someone said earlier it may have to be a bend don’t break approach. Give up some yards but lock down in the red zone and hopefully draw some field goals.

3. Yes Coughlin knows this team. And it makes sense now why he built a team on defense that doesn’t blitz often, but instead relies on rushing only 4 to get home. Brady will make you pay for blitzing as often he can read the defense, know where it’s coming from and target that weak spot. If we blitz we better make it disguised and hope it gets home.

They would tape the signal caller and also write it down. They would take it back and match up the signals with the game film and certain defenses with certain plays that were being called, particularly the defenses being called, to see if we could come up with some kind of an alert for a signal. So, what they did with videotaping the signal caller, people do it with the people in the stands!!
These people sitting there in the stands, looking at the signal, writing it down and matching up the 1st and 10 signal. Ok? Then you go back again and the 2nd and 10 and here’s the signal. You do that for a whole game.
You then go back and match up the defenses with the signal. And you can come up with what the signal was.
So, you don;’t need a video tape with what they were talking about doing. And people were doing it. WE were doing that. Everybody does that. You’re TRYING to gain a competitive edge. There is nothing wrong with that.
That’s why baseball players go through the mirage of signals. They’ve got all these different codes. That’s part of the competitive spirit of the game. I think it’s totally overblown. I think if you get caught (signals compromised), then do what we did and go to wristbands, you are worried about it. We started putting defenses on wristbands. Then you find a way to not get caught (signals compromised). When your good at something and people try steal from ya, I think it’s flattering.”

I'm 41 and grew up sitting on metal bleachers and watching a mediocre to bad product before Kraft rescued the situation, so older fans are well aware of the score here. It's the Millennial fans that are the ones who don't know any different, who were essentially born into a very good franchise and a then a dynasty.

Pats fans just look for fairness in debates, instead of the typical Goodell-led trolling of our franchise due to jealousy and lack of parity.

Belichick’s sin in that case was it seemed like he flouted the rules. The NFL sent out an internal memo to all teams that preseason about the rules concerning signal filming and he did it anyway. I feel that’s why the NFL dropped the hammer. Not necessarily for the deed itself.
