At 3-2 before Sunday, the Jaguars entered their second true home game of the season with a winning record and a signature victory over the Steelers. Jacksonville’s home team also was alone in first place in the AFC South.

Given that the team has managed to sell plenty of tickets through plenty of struggles, they filled up EverBank Field for the game against the Rams, right?


That didn’t happen. In fact, it was the lowest showing at home since Shad Khan purchased the team. According to Phillip Hellman of the Florida Times-Union, only 56,232 showed up for the 27-17 loss.

The low turnout could be a product of disinterest, but the team is actually interesting this year — even though inconsistent. The win-one-lose-one formula suggested that a loss was looming in Week Six. Still, many expected the Jags to win the game, which would have moved them to 4-2 through six weeks of the season.

Who the hell cares?  What does that have to do with the game?

There are 32 teams in the league.

The Jags should stay in Nickel and Dime as the Pats don't have a dominant running game. Lewis and whoever does a pretty good job, but they're not big, bruising backs. They're the little, scat, shifty, type. Thus the Jags don't need to run the 4-3 or 4-6 much if any.

They can go with Jalen on Gronk and Bouye on Cook. Or run single high safety with Gipson, while Telvin shades Gronk underneath with Church over the top, Jack is man up with whatever back is in.

Jags on O should try pounding the ball. If NE is selling out to stop it, send the TE's over the middle and on out breaking routes. I would also use Blake on the Roll Out. If the Pats are determined or rather playing to stop the run and roll out, that leaves other areas of weakness which the Jag coaches need to take advantage of.

Marrone is looking to be a very cerebral coach. The offensive game plan he had for the Steelers shows this. That playaction up the middle to Bohanan backs this up.

Whoever is on Cook needs to maul him at the line! In the past, that's how you dealt with NE and their passing game. Coupled with hitting Brady in his mouth

Brady and the Pats are so good because of their SYSTEM. Brady and Bill have a connection which has flourished over the years because they have a great connection. Brady is able to give Bill what he wants on the field. Again, they have a SYSTEM and to fight a system you have to disrupt it. There's a reason many WR's couldn't cut it on the Pats. Brady demands his WR's to be where they're supposed to be on time...so he can almost make the throws blind-folded. Brady is good...but any QB who put the work in would be able to duplicate what Brady done in this SYSTEM.

You clearly know nothing by saying "Pats don't have a dominant run game"...That's because the Pats play a different way almost every week. Are you new to this?

Denver? 5-11 Denver?

Oakland? In Mexico City okay...but Oakland was a train wreck this season.  6-10.

@Miami?  Other than the fact that Brady doesn't have a good record there what's tough about playing in southern Florida? They were also 6-10.

@Pitt I get.  But the Jaguars traveled there too and beat them worse than you did.

Those games weren't consecutive either...how is that a "stretch" of games?  They played Denver then Oakland coming off of their bye week.

I am not saying the Jaguars had a difficult schedule but the two schedules are both weak this year.  Neither played a difficult schedule by this years standards.

As far as I'm concerned, the back and forth is fun. 

Not too many people from other teams have bothered to visit this board and its predecessor over the years.  What's the point in trolling a team so far down?  Heck, you guys have been so insanely successful for so long, of course all of this stuff is old hat to you. 

I like the change.

I happen to like debating football with fans of other teams, because I like seeing the different perspectives and learning other things.
