Anyone that thinks it matters which QBs are playing in the superbowl doesn't understand television viewership.

People will watch the superbowl at the start regardless of the teams in it. The quality of the game as it progresses is what will keep people tuned in. The Jaguars are capable of playing quality football against any opponent, and rarely get blown out. If the Jaguars go to the Superbowl the ratings won't be any lower than if the patriots go to it.

Sorry, but Blake Bortles is not a cash cow. You'd have much more viewers tuning in to root against Brady than to watch Blake Bortles.

While I agree that Blake won’t pull in viewers, I am not sure so much about the last sentence.  On one side, the Pats fan base is huge especially with the bandwagon fans. On the other hand, I’ve heard countless time over the years “if the Patriots go to the Super Bowl I’m not watching”.  Whether or not those people kept to their word, idk.  But I think it’s safe to say a good portion of the country is tired of seeing the Patriots in it.  With that being said, if the Jags manage to pull off a win and take out the Pats, you’ll find a great deal of One Day Super Bowl Jag fans simply because they took down the Pats.  Couple that with a possible Vikings “Home” game two fresh teams in it, there ya go.  Something to watch.

On a random game, yes. But this is the Super Bowl. People are going to watch no matter who is playing. Panthers Broncos? Terrible SB but people watched. SB parties will continue and people will watch. No matter what.

Maybe someone can explain this to me.

So if Brady and the Pats don't make the SB then no one will watch as people only want to watch the 'Big' teams and players. Isn't this opposite to the exact nature of how the league is designed? The thing that makes this sport better than every other is how the league is designed to create as equal a playing field as possible so ANY of the 32 teams could win. The worst team gets to pick the best college kid, the salary cap doesn't allow for Super Teams. These are all amazing things, the fact 3 of the 4 team left have never won the SB is a good thing.

Or do people want the NBA where we can look forward to Cavs-Warriors for the 4th year in a row?

Yea, that's not true at all. He doesn't strike me as tough. At all.

Aside from 2008 when he blew out his knee in game one, he's never missed a game in his entire career due to injury. Tough? Yeah, one of the toughest. In the last several years, when the Patriots O line was trying to find itself, he arguably took more shots than any other QB in the NFL. That was part of the storyline the last couple years-- can Brady survive while taking all these hits... So toughness has never once been an issue for this guy.

If Gronk was 30% as durable, i would be quite happy.

*As a side note though, I'm practically convinced that all the "It's a QB driven league" hyperbole in recent years is just utter nonsense.

Think about it. 
If before the season anyone had said that the two Superbowl QBs this year will possibly be Blake Bortles and Case Keenum,, they would've been completely laughed at.

I know they've both played much better than previous seasons, but still.

It's not a QB driven league. It's a good defense driven league. 
With the exception of Tom Brady (GOAT), who still gets into the big game on his talents at times, the teams with the good defenses advance to the Superbowls:
recently
Seahawks LOB
Broncos
Panthers
Ravens (Lewis, Reed, Suggs) 

Jags?
Vikings?

I can totally see it.
