Mass Shooting at Parkland, FL High School
|
It wasn't a terrorist team. It wasn't an organized group of attackers.
It was a kid with a rifle and he more than likely was a bad shot with it. Any one of us here could have taken him down with one shot. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Well we learned that “could have” and “would have” are not synonymous. Not everyone has it in them to pull the trigger when called upon. That is what is unique about military versus civilian training. The weak or meek usually get weeded out early in the training process in the military.

Had the shooter appeared, I expect they would have opened up and not stopped until the slide locked back. They just didn't have the personal courage to run into the hot zone. Last In, First Out.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.
The last two times the Florida Legislature was scheduled to vote on liberalizing Florida gun laws, a mass shooting happened in Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's district and the vote was cancelled. When the vote was scheduled to allow open carry in Florida in January of 2017, the Fort Lauderdale Airport shooting happened. Last Wednesday, the Legislature was scheduled to vote on removing the penalty for inadvertently exposing a concealed weapon, among other provisions. That vote was also cancelled.
David Hogg's father Kevin Hogg was on duty at LAX when there was a mass shooting incident in 2013. It turns out that the United States Secret Service visited Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School 3 weeks ago for a training session. I did not know the Secret Service trained high school students but apparently they do.
There needs to be a closer examination of the couple who Nikolas Cruz was staying with, James and Kimberly Snead. James is an ex-military signals intel specialist, Kimberly is a neonatal nurse. They are claiming they saw nothing of any violent tendencies in Nikolas and that he was a "normal" kid. This in itself is suspicious since everyone else knew Cruz had serious issues and there was no lack of official complaints on him. Then there is the matter of an $800,000 inheritance the 2 Cruz boys were scheduled to receive from their parents' estate. 3 weeks ago, Kimberly Snead committed Nikolas' brother to a mental institution. Something is rotten here.
Side note: Signals intel? That deals with all available transmission spectra. Nikolas told police that the voice in his head told him to shoot. He would not be the first mass shooter to say that exact same thing. The details of the arrest are also very suspicious. Cruz is walking on a road to nowhere (it just loops back around) more than 2 miles from the school. There is a BOLO alert for Cruz because he just shot up a school, but the lone officer who spotted him didn't bother calling for backup. Fortunately Cruz was no longer armed and put up no resistance. That was a lucky hunch by the arresting officer, assuming a mass murderer was not a threat. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Looks like the Duval Pride community has received their stand down orders on the Parkland event. Mine must've gotten garbled in transmission.
Gotta wonder how Cruz got the rifle, ammo, helmet, goggles, and full metal body armor into the Uber without attracting suspicion, and how he managed to remove all that gear and blend in with students so craftily. Mastermind Nikolas Cruz, who planned and executed the perfect crime, then confessed to all charges. https://youtu.be/9y6WgOHhHLI
I will ask once again - how did Nikolas Cruz gain access to the school building? Who let him in? SWAT had to get the keys from Scot Peterson:
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/flo...ng-n851281 The statement quoted Peterson saying that when the gunfire first erupted, he "thought that the shots were coming from outside," which was why he "took up a tactical position." Peterson was the first member of the Broward County Sheriff's Office to report the gunfire, DiRuzzo said. He also gave the local SWAT team keys to the building where the shooting happened, drew diagrams of the campus for them, and helped school administrators access security videos, DiRuzzo said.
Wasn't he in body armor? I don't think this was as simple as a guy standing out in the open in plain sight for the average Joe to take down.

While there have been some student accounts of tactical equipment being worn, I don't think that has been confirmed other than a vest. If in fact, he did have all that equipment, I don't think to carry a large athletic bag to school would have seemed that unusual to an Uber driver. One of the biggest issues is the campus security and the ability for just anyone to access any of the buildings without question. He was able to go into an unmonitored stairwell and prepare/outfit. Definitely unusual today, especially south Florida. I attended high school in Palm Beach County in the late 80s-early 90s and my school was locked down during school hours with only entry and exit through the main office building. Two golf carts with resource officers patrolled around the campus at all times. Have they budgeted out student security?

Not the case. You are going down in PAIN!!! A trained individual knows the exposed/weak areas of basic tactical vests anyways. There was definitely opportunity to stop this if there weren't so many cowards or poorly trained officers.(02-27-2018, 10:20 AM)Tornadosoul7 Wrote: Wasn't he in body armor? Some people are far more skilled than you can imagine. At 100 yards I can make any design you want with my rifle, about 10 rounds in 2-5 seconds, iron sights, no mods. Just me and my made-in-1947 rifle. Granted, no one is shooting at me - but I guarantee you I'm a far better shot than that kid could ever have dreamt of being.

The kids and teachers won’t be running around the shooter. Odds are that if you see the shooter, you have a clear backstop. Most active shooters quit or kill themselves when confronted with force. Besides, are we really saying that having a good guy with a gun makes it more dangerous than just having an killer roaming unhindered?
A student said there are hi-def cameras in every hallway and stairwell. So who Let Nikolas Cruz in the building with a giant equipment bag and left him unattended to gear up in a stairwell? He was not a student at the school and even when he was a student he was not allowed on campus with a backpack.

Yes, not real time, a 20 minute delay!!! Got to wonder who the idiot was that thought that was a good idea. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

It's all emotionally driven bs.
Perhaps it was our buddy Scot Peterson again. In the NBC article, it says he helped school administrators access the security tapes.
