Nice.

I sure hope so. Outside of the Jaguars, Pugh has been my top FA target.

The article says he's a risky long-term investment due to his injury history. Well, the other legit option at G is Josh Sitton... but when you look closer at Pugh vs Sitton, it stands out that Pugh is 27 while Sitton is 31.

How much will he garner a year do you think? Think his injury history will lower his demands?

The overall numbers might not change much, but they might opt for some of the money to be in the form of incentives. I recall once when Fred Taylor re-upped that the team game him active roster bonuses where a portion of the money was earned each week... 1/16th of the total incentive for each game he was active for.

As for a number, Spotrac is saying $6.4 mil per.

That's their estimate based on a few factors
(for instance, they have him ranked top 20... not top 5), but it could easily be more. The top Guards are getting $9 to $10 mil per.

That 6 number wouldn't be that bad. I'd be all for it; hoping that he could stay healthy. Was he on the Giants championship team? If so, could bring some needed leadership and experience on the offensive side of the ball.

I like the fact he can play RT too. Pugh would be a really nice pick up

So how do you say his name is it Poo or is it Pug? I hope it's Poo so we can all say you got Poo'd when he pancakes defensive players. That would be great!

I'd be happy with him or Sitton

I'm torn on Pugh. He's good but not THAT good, and he has developed a fairly worrisome injury history now. Back injuries are scary especially for the big men.

Considering the money he will likely command I think I would rather go with a Josh Kline or Brandon Fusco who were better last year and will probably be cheaper since they are not the same type of name brand.

I’m kinda in the same camp. His injury history worries me. I’ll give you another name to consider, Senio Kelemete. Former 5th round pick who’s been relegated to spot duty in New Orleans. He played 8 games this year at Guard and Tackle due to injuries and performed extremely well. He’s also 27 and just entering his prime. Should command a mid level contract without the injury risk that Pugh comes with.

He basically tweeted how he's rooting for the Jags all year when he was with the Giants. Knows Coughlin who drafted him and is back in Florida. We could probably get him on the cheap with an incentive deal.

It's more along the lines of Pew.

Yeah I've seen people say good things about Kelemete too. He ranks right around the same spot as Kline and Fusco in NFL1000 grades but for some reason PFF has him graded much worse. I think he'd be a fine mid level pickup.

He misses too much football. Sign him and the demand will be to dump A. J. Cann. Once that happens, next up will be a guy we sign off another team's practice squad because the Jaguars are always one deep on the offensive line.

We could do worse than Pugh but back injuries are troublesome for OL.

There are a decent amount of options available.

I trust Coughlin/Caldwell to make the move.

Was not aware of the injuries. Very tough to depend on him and Linder..

If we are into former first round guards, why not consider Jonathan Cooper? He was a top pick years back. He fractured a leg and was thought to be not the same afterward.

He has been bouncing around the league for a while. He was selected 10th over-all in 2013 by Arizona. After his recovery, he traded by Arizona to New England for Chandler Jones then cut. He was picked up by Cleveland then waived.

He was signed by Dallas for $1 million this past off-season. He was inactive for three games, but moved into the starting left guard slot for the rest of the season (838 snaps) .

So offer him a raise and a chance to compete for a starting guard slot. If he doesn't win out, he'll still be valuable as a experienced offensive guard with VERY HIGH talent in his background.
