Look, I know fans are going to fan and all that - but there sure are a lot of Dr. Phil wannabes on this particular thread.

You know why it didnt make sense to not tag him because after this year we have to shed contracts no matter what so why not keep him for even just this year and try to win it all before the dismantling has to start one way or another, but thats before they decided Bortles is The GUY.

The franchise tag would basically be a one year contract for 16 mil for a guy coming off an ACL.

Considering the fact that most players don't play at a high level the year following an ACL, it wouldn't make sense to pay a guy in that situation the average of the top 5 highest paid players at his position for just this year.

He better still have that 40" vertical to catch the 50/50 balls because he couldn't get separation before the injury. Getting a pancake all-pro OG is worth is worth way more than a possession receiver coming off an ACL for the same money.

 Yea, I went to Stanton HS downtown near Moncrief. It was never a place I wanted to have my car break down.
