Allen Hurns Deadline Today [MERGED]
|
without Arob and Hurns we can call more running plays. which is what they want to do. there is no madden air it out here. this is what we are a running team with limited passing. every move has been to fortify this principle.

We lost A Rob basically IMMEDIATELY. Not necessarily to sign WRs, but perhaps to keep Colvin? People keep saying our defense will kick butt but we let our starting Nickel go to a division rival so... Again, there is a lot of "perhaps" to all these hypothetical scenarios. Perhaps, colvin wanted to play on the outside and be a #1 or #2 guy. So the money wouldn't have mattered. We don't get to know these sides of the deals. Usually we know if there is strong interest, and then we know the money. As fans we don't know the team's or player's true thoughts on anything.

The exact same can be said about the argument that guys like Westbrook and Cole will "break out", becoming good receivers for us and replace Robinson and Hurns well. There is a thread right now debating whether or not Cole should be our Nr1 WR... Our entire moves are justified with hypothetical scenarios!

Judging by his last game I think we can say he is finally healthy. I remember in one of his interviews before that game he said he's finally healthy and it showed in the field We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! And those rookies from last year should all be better now going into their 2nd years as a unit. Lee, Cole and Westbrook should be able to handle the load. Especially if we start using the TE position more and keep the ground game going. And again, I can't stress this enough. We still have the draft... This just makes zero sense. We have essentially the same skill players as last year plus an all-pro card added. Hurns barely played last year. ![]()

We have the worst QB in our division/below average NFL QB, our receiving core are 2 Sophmores and an average guy in Lee that has had difficulties holding on to the ball last year. ASJ is one DUI away from being out of the league and he hasnt been able to reach his potential anywhere else. I mean come on, I understand our defense is good but we also lost Colvin and Poz and the other Teams in our division greatly improved their Defense as well as already having better offensive players in key positions. Hurns caught more passes than Moncrief... And we pay Moncrief more. The entire reason why people are okay with Moncrief is his potential, but thats as hypothetical as my opinion that colvin would have signed if we would have paid him a bit more than Houston.

But whatever, Coughlin gets paid to make those calls and he did it. Hurns is a patriot kind of pickup, and I think he would do great there. Barring injury I expect he will produce in that kind of offense. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! It's pretty common knowledge that colvin wanted to play on the outside and get his chance to shine. Outside of that all I said was that we don't know their true feelings, which is true, so to answer your question, no I suppose I'm not kidding. And I'm not talking about Cole or Westbrook "breaking out." They already performed last year well enough to make the team feel comfortable in cutting hurns. The team wouldn't make that move unless they're comfortable with what we already have, or maybe if they knew they were bringing someone else in. Lee Cole Westbrook Moncrief Asj is gonna be catching passes now too Hurns just was the odd man out. It is what it is.

I'll choose to ignore the whole money side of the Hurns debate ("if we had cut him earlier, we could've used the money...blah, blah") b/c I don't know the details and because everyone here, except Achilles, has chosen to pretty much ignore the medical side of it.
Maybe he's walking down the hall bouncing off the walls and seeing stars. Maybe he can't put a complete sentence together. Maybe he isn't the Allen Hurns you remember. I guess I have to assume everybody here has the same access to his medical information that the Jaguars have. Same with AR15's knee. What do we really know about that? Nothing.

With a one dimensional offense, a stronger schedule, Jags on their way to 8-8 or 9-7 and just miss the playoffs, or 7-9 losing season.
Honestly, I don't feel great about our group of receivers this year. Not a fan of Moncrief, and Lee has butterfingers. That said, we've still got Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook, who'll no longer be rookies. And we could still draft a receiver and a tight end in the draft too. I don't think losing Allen hurts us that much. If Cole and Westbrook develop we should be better off than last year, even without Hurns.
