Let me preface by stating that I was high on Moncrief in 2014.

Furthermore, I understand there are different circumstances in each organization that can impact player productivity, in a good or bad way.

But if Moncrief could not succeed in Indy with Luck throwing him the ball, why would he succeed more than Hurns here?

Now could you argue his productivity was not worth $7 million/year?  Sure.

After not living up to the 16 mil he was already paid, I don't think asking him to take a pay cut this year was an unreasonable request. Hurns asked to be released instead and the jags fulfilled his request.

I can't see how you can fault the organization for his departure.

From what Caldwell was saying, his priority was Lee and a WR to pair with him.  They wanted to get a deal with ARob, but weren't close on numbers.  Moncrief was the next guy on their list, and they got him.

Lee was not a "settle for" or leftover.  He was part of plan A.

Hurns was a goner from the start, unless he was going to take a pay cut.

Not my opinion, it's what the club and others have reported.

It's crazy how much people undervalue Lee. I guess that's the internet age though. Weak minds see an opinion from some figure head and then they all parrot it enough until somehow that becomes the label, even though it's inaccurate. 

Lee has had a few bad drops but the whole drop rate is overblown. 

Anyone who truly thinks hurns brings more to the table than Lee needs to just stop talking about football.

Hurns was more of a playmaker than Lee,  Marquis ain't making that diving catch in London.  Unfortunately injuries have made Hurns a shell of his former self, he isn't nearly has fast or agile as he used to be.  Lee isn't undervalued, he just isn't that good, guy is the definition of mediocre.  He can only do crossing routes, led the nfl in drops, and is irrelevant when a corner that isn't terrible is covering him.

One possibility that came to mind is the Cowboys decide to sign Allen Hurns. Then they release Dez Bryant. The Jaguars then attempt to sign Dez Bryant with some of the salary cap savings from today. Like Hurns was, Bryant would be a good fit in terms of being an extension of the Jaguars running game. Bryant would be a significant upgrade as a receiver. Whether Bryant would be a good fit from a chemistry perspective from the viewpoint of Tom Coughlin and Doug Marrone seems like a key question.

Exactly.  Robinson has the potential to be a "true #1" talent and Hurns is a good (not great) possession guy.  Retaining them is basically over-paying them.  If anything, I would say that we've either made some upgrades if not at least keeping the same level of talent.

I don't get the thrash at hurns. We are a run first team who doesn't want to throw the ball. Hurns has been hurt past two years. Oh and lets just totally forget he was the player to run off the field to save a 10'second run off in the charger game. He basically won that game. Yeah lets replace him with Moncrief who DANCES after a 2 yard catch... lol. Oh man.

Everything you just said either reeks of bias, or again, you don't know what you're talking about. Lee is easily more of a playmaker than hurns. He has more playmaking ability, more speed, more yac ability, he's quicker, jumps higher, etc.

Hurns is a passionate football player, clutch, great on third downs but he doesn't have close to Lee's athletic ability.

I know I just don't like loosing two key players in one offseason. 

Look we finally have competent people in the front office so I'm good with waiting to see how it shakes out but I just don't feel as confident about the wr as I did last year. There a lot of question marks in what was a pretty deep roster spot last year.

Neither were key last year. We'll be fine.

I don't buy that at all.

Go back to the Miami game.  Robinson got a ton of separation, including on a 46 yard TD.  He also had a huge game against the Saints, including a 90 yard reception where he beat the DB (former Seahawk Brandon Browner).  

Is there a question of whether his ACL injury has robbed him (Robinson) of that ability to separate?  Absolutely.

Is there a legit question of whether either guy was worth either what they were asking for in FA (RObinson) or what their contract gave them (Hurns), but their ability to separate in 2015 should remain unchallenged.

When will people stop using this logic of: "we did it without them last year so we can easily do it without them again". That is not how the NFL works, other teams were injured and are getting better/adjusting. We also had to adjust our gameplan last year to suit the guys we had, which, btw, ended up costing us the AFCCG.
