Oh yeah, but still, we're not exactly talking about a TD machine with McCarron.

I moved them up to #27.

I was thinking it was way too early to ask if we closed the gap on the Patriots, or, for that matter, anyone closed the gap on us.

But he went ahead.

What are your thoughts?

We were better than the Patriots...the refs decided that game.

Patriots aren't really the team to worry about, I suspect the league will decide that last year was the last year to grant them an appearance in the Superbowl. There are other teams, even in our own division we need to keep an eye on. Specifically the tinhorns will be challenging us for the AFC South title. I know I said that last year too, but who could have foreseen all the injuries they had? They'll make a run at this year. I pick us to hold them off but it's not going to be a cakewalk.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Not sure what's to even argue. This team is by far the favorite in the AFC, even over the Chumpriots. 10 mins away and all we did was upgrade the offense, and we still have the draft. Only question is at MLB. I'm not worried about Hayden tbh.

Essentially my thought as well. If the Jaguars got calls like the pats get I think they would have won the Superbowl last season. Against the referee favorites I don't know we'll be good enough to overcome it playing like last year. The Jaguars will need to be much better.

Are the tacks going to have our number again this year? Man, those guys...

No...no they will not. We will sweep the stinking flaming tacks. We will mentally and physically abuse the maryscrota. Forcing him to wonder why he ever thought about choosing the NFL as a occupation.

The tacks are in reset mode to some extent with the staff changes. Lots of unknowns concerning their approach at the moment, but I think the Jags are equipped to beat them handily with a little tweak in the gameplan and marginally better execution in 2018.

I sure hope not, but it is their sole claim to fame.

If Allen Robinson had returned healthy I have no doubt the Jaguars would abuse the tacks. He's totally owned them. Since he won't be back I don't know what will happen, but hopefully the coaches come up with a better game plan than to keep waiting for the other team to make a mistake, because that's essentially the tacks gameplan, but their offensive line was better than ours.

They got us early the first game, and the second game we weren't trying. While I don't think we will sweep, I expect us to pick up a win early on them this year.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster
