You may have noticed I left Josh Allen off my big board. That's because I wouldn't draft him even if he is there.

I do not believe a conditional 7th rounder in 2019 means anything.

I agree. You don't take a QB in the 1st round if you don't think he has a chance of pushing for the starting spot one day.

1. Roquan Smith - OLB - UGA
2. Derwin James - S - FSU
3. Lamar Jackson - QB - Louisville
4. Calvin Ridley - WR - Alabama
5. Sam Hubbard - DE - OSU
6. D.J Moore - WR - Maryland
7. Billy Price - G/C - OSU
8. Rashaad Penny - RB - San Diego St
9. Dalton Schultz - TE - Stanford
10. Kyle Lauletta - QB - Richmond

I am thinking as far as possibilities of players slipping to where we can trade up. For a player like Smith or James on defense. And then I am looking at players that could be there at the bottom of RD1 like Jackson, Ridley, Hubbard and Moore. Between Price, Penny, Schultz & Lauletta these would be players we could look at in the event they actually trade down from the 29th spot and start pick-up additional 2nd or 3rd round choices.

I did not include Connor Williams, Roquan Smith, Derwin James or any of the supposed "top end" QB's, because I believe all of these players will be long gone when we pick. I also do not view any of the TE's as first round picks, according to my evaluations.

Is no one a fan of Harold Landry, or is he a guy we’re assuming won’t be there at 29?

The Jags just don't need him.

Im a big fan of Price too but he needs some work in pass pro. Im confident though with having a head coach who is a former oline coach and with Pat Flaherty here that we have the right coaches in place to have Price improve in that area.  Probably the olineman in the class with the highest upside.

Mine would look similar to this. I’d flip flop Rudolph and Jackson but that’s just semantics. I like them both.

I'm surprised you all still might go QB. I figured Kessler fills that role.

As much as I like Kessler, he is not on Rudolphs level

He won't be there and we really have no use for a 3-4 pass rushing OLB.

He was better last season when he played RG for the Buckeyes. That's where I would move him back to with the Jags. He is a better RG than a Center.

Kessler is no competition for Bortles. He's strictly a clipboard holder with NFL experience who can improve as a passer, but has limited upside. I believe 100% we're going to bring in legitimate competition for Bortles via the draft. It may be round 1 or it could be as late as round 3, but somewhere in those first 3 rounds, I'm expecting a QB.

I run the first-pick.com game A LOT. Like twenty times a day. What I am providing is a typical list of players available at 1-29 when I draft for the Jaguars.

This means I am using their rankings i.e. day one, day two, etc., but I am presenting a alphabetically ordered list of players the computer spits out on a regular basis, meaning there has to be a high probability they are fairly accurately mimicking reality of NFL Draft day one options at 1-29.

On any given draft, as the Jaguars, you more or less will find:

DAY ONE GRADES

OT Tyrell Crosby Oregon
LB Lorenzo Carter Georgia
TE Dallas Goedert South Dakota State
RB Derrius Guice Louisiana State
SS Ronnie Harrison Alabama
OG Will Hernandez UTEP
EDGE Sam Hubbard Ohio State
CB Mike Hughes Central Florida
DT Maurice Hurst Michigan
QB Lamar Jackson Louisville
WR Christian Kirk Texas A&M
OT Mike McGlinchey Notre Dame
WR D. J. Moore Maryland
C/OG Billy Price (Biceps surgery)
OG Isaiah Wynn Georgia

Of course, you can draft anybody outside of their day one projected players. I'm not endorsing the game, and I have no idea what their value board is.

Next, I am providing a short list of players that randomly - on a rotating basis - seem to drop down to the 1-29 range for no realistic reason other than some additional challenge to the draftnik pretending to be a real NFL GM. For some reason the stars align and the computer spits out:

QB Josh Allen Wyoming
QB Baker Mayfield Oklahoma
FS Derwin James Florida State
OT Conner Williams

I am going to run two different computer runs. First I will run twenty ten drafting as the Minnesota Vikings then ten as the Pittsburgh Steelers. I will observe which players are picked for the Jaguars by the computer in each of the runs. I will also try to document any trades that take place as best as I can.
