But what a player

Yup, 2nd or 3rd round,  Jags would have the fastest LB corp.

Problem is, he play's Telvin's position.

You think so? Do you think he creeps up to the 2nd? I could definitely see him in round 3 or 4. Maybe day 3 is wishful thinking.

Unfortunately yeah. He had a really good combine and can play all 3 LB spots while also being a very good pass rusher. He'd be in my top 5 LBs atm so I'd love to have him here.

I'm not seeing much at sam to choose from at all, unless you're picking high. I can't fathom us moving to get one.

There are a couple jack of all trades and 3-4 ILB guys who might be able to do the job, but no one stands out as a "must have" of those who are likely to be available to us.

I'd prefer Tremaine Edmunds but there's simply no chance.

Ideally, Uchenna Nwosu would be perfect. He may be the best coverage linebacker in the entire draft, but I don't really want to draft a linebacker on day 2 and there's no way he's making it to day 3.

I wonder if Roquan Smith could play the true OTTER role as intended by the Seattle scheme.

He’s a hell of a pass rusher, too.

His size may avail him to the Jags in round 3.

Smoot was asked yesterday day in a questions and answers, who is the most underrated player on the team and he said Blair Brown. I think Brown will surprise some people this year

I agree... he's one to watch.  I saw promising things late season.

I don't think he projects well as a sam in the NFL, or to the NFL all together.

Probably setting up their targets for camp invites and UDFA, as I don't think he's likely to be drafted.

He actually saw the field a lil bit last season and I thought he filled in quite well.

As per LBers... we'll be looking at depth (so no round 1 or 2 picks, I'm guessing)
Round 1-3 QB, TE, OL, in some sort of order would be my guess.
Rounds 4, 6, and 7 LB, WR, NB, in some order.

IMO, he looks more like a safety.

Way too small to be SAM.  Will is 220-230.  Sam about 10 lbs heavier.  Our most prototypical SAM was Clint Session.  Shame he was damaged goods by the time he landed here.  Jack is good, too but he's likely our MLB.

His game and size isn't much different than what we already have today with Telvin Smith at will.

Meh, I'm sure he can put on a little weight if the team wanted him too.  He can rush the passer as well which the SAM does much more than WILL.  Smith is small but he could excell at SAM too if that's what we asked of him. If we draft him you think it's for depth instead of a possible starting role at SAM?

While the skillset of a SAM is traditionally bigger and slower, I think I'd put a premium in having them being able to cover and then work back from that. You can't afford to have Poz types on the field anymore. Every OC in the league will have a large bullseye on them.

Griffin isn't the ideal SAM but he has a very rare skillset which can work there.

Just to clarify his numbers to get an idea of his size...
  • 6' 0 3/8" ... this will read as 6' 1"
  • 227 lbs ...so figure 230 at least
  • did 20 reps on bench ...not too shabby
