Tampa Bay- Brian Allen, C/OG, Michigan State 254. Atlanta- Bunmi Rotimi, DE, Old Dominion Jag's picks 1. Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina: The most complete TE in the draft. Pairing him in 2 TE sets opposite newly acquired Austin Seferian Jenkins will add a totally new element to the offense. 2. Braden Smith, OG/OT, Auburn: Natural RG who specializes in the run game. He can also play RT and could be moved to that spot after the season if Parnell is cut for cap savings. 3. Darius Leonard, LB, South Carolina State: Athletic linebacker with a non-stop motor who does very well in pass coverage and is an excellent tackler. He'd be perfect on 3rd downs. 4. Mike White, QB, Western Kentucky: One of the very few non-first round QB's with high upside. He has a decent arm, shows good accuracy, a very nice deep ball and seems to have a quick release. After sitting for a year, I could see him battling for the starting QB position in 2019. 6. Greg Stroman, CB, Virginia Tech: Fast, athletic, productive corner who would excel in the Nickle role. I could see him battling for the 3rd CB spot right away, in our defense. 7. Javon Wims, WR, Georgia: Tall, athletic pass catcher with good hands and excellent body control. Had he been in a more pass oriented offense, he would be taken much higher. 7. Elijah Nkansah, OT, Toledo: Experienced OT who has played LT and RT. Very good run blocker who opened running lanes for Kareem Hunt at Toledo. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! The Pats would be taking a huge gamble making that trade up, letting Solder walk, and waiting until the bottom of the 3rd to get a LT. However, in this scenario, the gamble pays of pretty well with O'Neill. As for the Jags, I'd be fairly happy with this haul. I don't think the Jaguars would spend a 3rd on Leonard due to the small school, but I like the player. Wims in the 7th would seem a good nab, too. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Good stuff again.
Change Hurst to Goedert or Gesicki and I would be very happy with our mock.

Actually, they would get O'Neill at the bottom of the 2nd round. I see O'Neill as a Pats' type of OT. Not flashy, just solid. IMO, I see him as a much better option than a guy like Kolton Miller, who plays too high and struggles with bull rushers. To be honest, this is not a very good year for LT prospects and with no real elite players at the position, New England can fill some more immediate needs with their first round selections and still get a LT in the late 2nd round that really doesn't differ from one they could get in late round 1. Personally, I love Darius Leonard. He dominated the Senior Bowl and despite coming from a small school, he led that game in tackles against the best players in college football. To me, he is a small school version of Roquan Smith. I wouldn't even be surprised if he was gone by the time we picked in round 3. He's that good. Wims is everything we'd want in a receiver. He has good hands, excellent body control and decent speed. I really don't wanna spend a high round pick on a WR, given our current situation. (04-05-2018, 11:55 PM)JackCity Wrote: Good stuff again. Possibly Goedert, but a hard no on Gesicki. He sucks at blocking and I really believe we want a TE who is more well rounded than just being a pass catcher. For some reason, I have a gut feeling that the Jags have Hurst higher on their board than Goedert. Don't ask me why, it's just a feeling I have. I really like Goedert though. I have a feeling New England is targeting him in round 2. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I am not foregoing Travis Kelce to take Kyle Rudolph because I am so hellbent on running the football that I couldn't figure out how to fit in a gamebreaking pass catching mismatch at TE.
Unfortunately I do think our FO would, and probably will.
I absolutely love the Jags picks to be honest!! I'm a big Braden Smith fan, always had him as the 4th best guard in this class and would be very happy to get him in the 2nd round. I'm absolutely fine with the Hurst pick, he's not very flashy but he's a good solid starter and does everything well. With Leonard, I haven't watched alot of film on him except 2 games but sometimes he seems to struggle with getting off of blocks but for a late 3rd round guy who'd be used in pass coverage I'm fine with that because Brown is more down hill and could play that role if needed and then rotate in Leonard on 3rd and longs. I feel like White is a solid QB and could beat out Kessler. Caldwell says he wants starters and this draft would possibly give us 3 which would be great
I can 100% see the 1st rd going that way. I’d prefer Wynn or Goedert/Gesicki over Hurst but the rest are really nice

I am a big Wynn fan though and have him graded as the 2nd best OG in the draft behind Nelson.
OL how would you rank Daniels/Wynn/Hernandez/Wiiliams in terms of if you were the Jags and you needed a guard/center. How would you rank them on your big board?

I believe he can be an elite OT and since we are set at OT, he ranks lowest on my list, even though he's my favorite of the 4.) We show less advertisements to registered users. Center is by far their biggest need. That O-Line was terrible last season and trading for Cordy Glenn was just the beginning of the overhaul. With Russell Bodine gone, they need a reliable Center and Daniels fills all the requirements.

Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina: The most complete TE in the draft. Pairing him in 2 TE sets opposite newly acquired Austin Seferian Jenkins will add a totally new element to the offense. 2. Tyrell Crosby, OG/OT, Oregon: Natural RT plays well in both the run and the pass. He will probably be moved inside to RG and evaluated throughout the season, as he could be moved to the RT spot after the season if Parnell is cut for cap savings. This team loves O-Linemen with versatility and Crosby being able to play OG and OT would be a huge bonus. 3. Mike White, QB, Western Kentucky: One of the very few non-first round QB's with high upside. He has a decent arm, shows good accuracy, a very nice deep ball and seems to have a quick release. After sitting for a year, I could see him battling for the starting QB position in 2019. 4. Parry Nickerson, CB, Tulane: Lightning quick corner with a nose for the football. He is a bit undersized, but is an athletic, productive corner who would excel in the Nickle role. I could see him battling for the 3rd CB spot right away in our defense. He seems tailor-made for the Nickle role. 6. Oren Burks, LB, Vanderbilt: Athletic linebacker with a non-stop motor who does very well in pass coverage and is an excellent tackler. He'd be perfect on 3rd downs. He shows the scheme diversity to play all 3 LB positions in a 4-3 system.
I wouldn't be mad at this draft for the Jaguars at all, I think it's pretty good actually. Major props on completing this whole thing btw, very impressive and seems like a lot of hard work.
My preference if the draft falls like you predict: Rd. 1 Dallas Goedert Rd. 2 Frank Ragnow Rd. 3 Mike White Rd. 4 Holton Hill, CB, Texas Rd. 6 Jaleel Scott, WR, New Mexico St. Rd. 7 Quinton Flowers, QB/RB/WR, USF |
