Jags select WR DJ Chark in 2nd Round

#21

Few thoughts

Really thought we should have taken an Oline like Crosby or Teller but whatever. The WR group is pretty weird looking as we have 2 young studs in Keelan Cole and Dede who will not be losing a lot of snaps to Moncrief (10 million this year) Chark and Lee.

On the + side we have a lot of deep threats who win 1 v 1 and that will help our passing game a lot. Expect a lot of PA, especially if Blake gets some of his 2015 arm back.

As for Chark , he's probably a 1st round WR with average QB play and an average offensive system. Has a long way to go but Coughlin and Caldwell are WR gurus AND he has Jerry Sullivan's seal of approval.

I'm happy with it.

What? When did I say I did or didn't like it?

Because his love for complaining (and thinking he knows more than everybody on the entire planet) trumps his love for athletes.

How did I say anything that was a complaint? Honesty = hate unless it's delivered in slobbery fashion?

You will love this young man's work ethic. Think a taller version of Allen Hurns who runs a 4.3 40. This young man will come to work every day and not cause any problems. High upside potential who offers help in the return game.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Agree totally... you have to play Moncrief and Lee bc they are getting PAID... u have to play Dede and Cole bc we want them to develop... so how do we also play Chark? That being said... Moncrief is a one and done in Jax... and I do love the raw ability Chark brings to the table. We definitely seem to be picking players we want rather than positions we need, which I'm ok with. We should draft the players we feel are most likely to become stars and figure out the rest later.

Guy should be a killer on the play action deep ball.

I wasn't actually railing on you btw. You just generally seem to be a bigger fan of the elite athletes draft wise.

I think this guy is really exciting and has the potential to jump to the top our depth chart.

Big AND fast.

Keenan absolutely loves him. Caldwell tried to trade up for him. They had a 1st round grade on him.

What else do we need to know? Jags all over this guy and when Caldwell loves someone enough to trade up, usually works out.

I gave it a B in the other Chark thread so I am a fan of it. Considering how raw he is I can't see giving it an A based purely on potential.
